Nevada Bob

Golfers’ paradise here. I’m not one for the golfing but there are increasing numbers of people visiting Belfast and beyond to do a bit of golfing. So if you’ve damaged a club, forgotten you glove (s), or just need to stock up on tees and balls, this is the place for you.

Back in my younger days I did two things, play the guitar and play golf. I only have one of these as a skill now and lets put it like this… on the rare occasion I hit a golf ball it usually ends up 10 feet in front of me (or in one miraculous case, 15 feet behind me… not sure that the laws of physics were on my side that day)
I’ve been to a couple of these golf warehouses and the range of Nevada Bob’s is huge, if a little erratic. Everything is strewn across the place without too much planning or judgement. That said it’s certainly got ms things you are after.
I remember the last time I was there trying out a Big Bertha driver (I think it was the largest they had at the time) using the computer system they have whereby you hit the ball at a projection and it tracks the movement and trajectory.
I managed a long drive, unfortunately it was in the wrong direction and I had completely sliced it, but hey.
The prices are fair although you can probably (as with most things) track down things online much cheaper.

So I don’t play golf. Nor do I understand how you work out a handicap. But I do understand shops and I was with a golfer when I went here so everything was explained to me.
The shop in itself is a bit of a mess to be brutally honest. They have a lot of stock which is a good thing, but they need to lay it out better. That said, the staff are incredibly polite, and were very happy to see some sort of customer in their shop.
Having been to the Boucher Road Retail complex quite a bit, it is still bemusing to me that this place insists on opening its doors day in day out because I have never seen people going in or leaving it.
If you are a golfing pro then this shop is for you. But for people that don’t regularly play golf, there is literally nothing here you would be interested in.
