I used to find Sanco to be a good spot to get computer-related malarkey. A bigger hard-drive, memory sticks, CDs to back up information… it was always useful for that sort of thing. It’s a very small shop but it always had what I needed and the staff are friendly and know what they’re talking about. They’ve built a good reputation locally, which can only come from the type of customer service you get from independent local retailers(see my reviews on Direct Furniture, Gibson’s butchers, etc.,). In recent years they’ve shifted a lot of their focus to tills and cash registers for businesses. You can still get most of the accessories for your computer that I mentioned, but they really seem to have found a niche locally for customising and supplying those touch screen tills that you see in so many pubs and restaurants these days. On the customer service point, I bought a hard drive from here once and a friend was fitting it for me when he told me it wasn’t functioning properly. I thought this was unlikely and that he just couldn’t do it, but I brought it back to Sanco, they tested it, and it was faulty. They gave me another one, and their apologies, and I was on my way. No hassle.
