«where’s the Beef?» well, I’ll tell you. I ordered a pulled beef burrito to take away, £5.15 if anyone is interested, I got back to the office, opened the box and was greeted was a tremendous mouthwatering smell, «I’m looking forward to this little treat» nice bit of salad and coleslaw, lovely touch. The burrito was a toasted ciabatta and the«Beef» was just a thin smear, the best way to describe it I think would have been, beef flavoured ciabatta, ridiculous. The two stars were for the staff who were lovely

Snax in the city is a great stop for office workers at lunchtime. It has salads(noodle and non noodle) sandwiches, wraps, paninis, soups, curries, stew and a few other delights… I will agree with Julie M. here, know what you want before you go. If your office lunch hour is exactly as described, time is not on your side and although the team have obviously taken steps to try and help hurried masses get fed well quickly, if it isn’t pre packed be prepared to wait. There is seating available inside and out, and my friends and I sat at the breakfast bar type table which runs along the middle of the shop. I thought it was a great place to sit as it’s good height for eating and conversing or watching(whether it be the news on the TV, or the people ambling past the window). I should also mention the great staff, who I enjoyed a good bit of Belfast banter with. Always a massive plus in my book. ;)

Being around the corner from my office is probably one of snax main appeals for me personally. I’ve recently gotten into a bad habit of not bringing lunch and eating out most days(I.e. Grabbing a sandwich). This has resulted in me becoming somewhat of a sandwich shop connoisseur. I now expect more from my sandwiches and sadly snax just doesn’t excite me. The main issue is you can’t view the food. I love a good deli counter where you can decide what goes into the sandwich and this is severely lacking in snax which means I come out with a boring sandwich due to lack of inspiration. Any hot food takes far too long to make, having said that it is tasty so if you aren’t in a rush it’s a moot point. Despite all my criticisms I would have to admit to being a hypocrite — snax is probably my most frequented sandwichery around. The soup and curry are fast options which always taste great. Pre-potted and ready for you to grab. The soups change daily with around 3 to choose from. The Thai chicken soup is a must if I spy it on the menu. They do have some paninis etc made up in packets which they heat up which are nice but again slow. Or you can design your own hot wrap/panini/toasty if you have something in mind. The salted chilli chicken hot wrap(on the board) is beaut and is my go to lunch when I have a few minutes to wait. My advice is to know what you want before you go and bear in mind the wait for hot food. It’s all about smart choices here

One the one hand, Snax in the City offers a great self-service salad bar,(with the option of noodles), so. you know… that’s nice. On the other hand, their pre-made sandwiches are average at best, and overpriced if you ask me, as is the hot food. The place itself is also not the greatest to sit in. It’s really cold and clinical, so if you do decide to go, my advice is take your food back to the office with you!

Lately I have taken to buying cups of fresh filter coffee in here as it’s only £1 to take out, having developed a need for a caffeine prop before or during work. The steel furniture and industrial metal flooring has always put me off sitting down to lunch in here. However, Snax has an appetising range of fresh salads, noodle dishes and home made soups in addition to the sandwiches and wraps so sooner or later I can see myself sampling the food.

Snax is another wee café situated down Linenhall Street a stones throw away from the city centre. Frequented by the suits of the city getting a seat in here at lunchtime is near impossible. It really does just do what it says on the tin and offers tea’s, coffe’s and light snacks such as sandwiches and wraps. With outdor seating for those smokers out there and early morning breakfast for those short of time its a good place for the business people of Belfast who just want a quick bite or perk me up. If your looking for a nice relaxing shopping break biteand coffee there are planty of choices n the town with far better views and scope for people watching. Snax doesn’t stand out from the crowd in either a good or bad way and overall does what you need it to do. I had a lovely juice and chicken wrap and I have to say the food is just fine. Its a bit of a boring venu but served its purpose for me!

Snax in the City is a small café in Belfast’s City Centre, tucked away in Linenhall St, a 5 minutes walk from the City Hall. Situated as it is on the outskirts of the City’s financial/start-up district, it is the place to be for local bankers, PR execs and entrepreneurs. Yet it is far from being ‘posh’. A square room with steel tables, getting a seat at lunchtime can be an absolute nightmare, especially when you’ve only got 60 minutes away from the office. The food is average; can’t complain about it, but can’t sing its’ praises either. What I really dislike about Snax is the discomfort of it. I actually prefer the extra 10 minute walk to the local Starbucks as I’m guaranteed a comfy seat with nice décor, above average food and drink and a lovely view of the city centre’s bustling shopping district. Snax, by contrast, is quite boring with the only real view being of the BMW’s parked outside. If you prefer networking lunches to comfort, then Snax is the place for you.
