This is the first review since 2010 and sadly things seem to have changed a lot since then. Went in here one weekend. We were impressed by the huge list of flavours of milkshakes available; pretty much every time of sweet, chocolate bar and biscuit you can think of! We both went for the Kinder Bueno milkshake and had a chocolate orange cookie. They were fine, but I won’t lie, they’re not anywhere close to being ‘up there’ with some of the best I’ve ever had. The food processor the girl made our shakes in looked a bit grotty and as for the actual shakes themselves, I could genuinely make nicer at home.

Busy, busy, busy! That’s the overall impression I got of my visit to the cookie box. There was a smallish queue which was moving quickly but at least it gave me a minute to consult the selection. As the name suggests there are many different varieties of cookie for sale here. It’s quite a limited concept but really works as they’ve basically focussed on tasty cookies and very good coffee. The location is brilliant, just beside the Victoria centre and it’s a fun, original little concept and shop(box!) Pros: Sweet sweet sweet. Cons: Sugar rush anyone?

Is this place ever not busy? They don’t have a walk in shop area, they don’t have any seating and they don’t really have any impressive décor but what they do have is a massive selection of some of the yummiest, scrumptious, most delicious milkshakes you have ever tasted. This place is a big hit with the kids who hang around Belfast so be prepared to queue and listen to the skater dudes and emo kids chatting jive. Once you are at the front the selection is awesome I went for a Malteaser milkshake. I stood back and watched as the very hygienically dressed bloke behind the counter lifted a massive handful of Malteasers and bunged them in the blender with two big scoops of ice cream(my diet kind of went out the window, but in my defence milkshakes have milk in them!) the taste and texture was divine and it doesn’t surprise me for a second that this place is always busy. Someone also told me the cookie box sells cookies — I hadn’t even noticed I was so blinded by the milkshakes. Maybe I’ll go back tomorrow for a cookie… sack the diet!

There are some places in the world that guarantee you will want to visit them at some point in your lives. Sydney Opera House. Eiffel Tower. London. The Cookie Box. You just have to. It’s got cookies, and milkshakes, and coffee, and tea, and milkshakes, and cookies, and milkshakes. Ok so the selection isn’t huge. And if you are mad after a slice of pizza or a forkful of lasagne then you won’t get it here. However, if you want the finest milkshake in Belfast, this would be a good start. I remember making them with a blender back in my day and there began my craving for milkshakes. As I was on like a year detox, I came across this place and thought«you know what? I can do this». I had one. And another one. And now I want more. I’m not quite going to go on a rampage, but I’m not far off it. The cookies are nice, soft and there is a massive selection. There is an even bigger selection of milkshakes. And if it becomes my goal in life, I will try to finish this entire menu. Despite it’s hideous location down a side-street, it is fantastic.

This is a great wee place! If you’re a cookie fan and love a bit of variety you will love it! They offer a wide variety of cookies and they’re priced at a moderate £1.19 each. Or you can buy 5 fro £4.95 or toe for £8.95. Tempting! They also offer a huge range of over 100 milkshake flavours from the traditional such as chocolate or strawberry to the wacky such as cookies and milk! So far any I’ve had have been great! The place itself is aptly named as it really is just a box with no seating so definitely a eat on the go kinda place. But worth a visit for the cookies which are fab and big! Its situated on the door of the new Victoria Square so really is at the heart of the hustle and bustle and favoured by shoppers galore! I love popping in and getting a bag of cookies to take home for later… always eating at least one on the way!

The cookie box appears to be where all the weekend shoppers go to get their diabetes inducing, super unhealthy, always tasty lunch time treats. The place itself is tiny, only room for the counter and its display of almost every cookie variety I could think of. This could make the queue stretching outside seem larger than it actually is. I’m an old school chocolate chip guy and was pleased with what I got. It was a big cookie, whats not to be pleased about. As Colm H mentioned, they offer a cookie milkshake, but I’m with him. I’ll leave my stomach as the only destination where the milk and cookies will come together. You can get coffee and cookies in any of the coffee shops in Belfast with the added advantage of being able to sit down. I’m not to sure why people would want to go here instead, apart from having a very specific taste in cookies that requires a large selection.

The Cookie Box is a nice little shop. It seems to be a proper hit with the teenagers around Belfast, as I have often seen a queue out the door consisting of manly kids around the age of 15. Inside it is tiny, with just enough room really for a counter and a coffee machine. It is packed full of home made cookies of all varieties, every so often you may even find them selling a limited edition special cookie. All there coffee is fair trade which is nice to know. As well as a decent cup of coffee they sell cookie milkshakes and I have to say, I am not really sure what to make of them. I am kind of a traditionalist when it comes to cookies and milk, preferring them separate and not mashed together, but you never know, it could be your thing.
