Recently went here for a Friday lunch with some work-mates. An empty restaurant on a Friday afternoon, you should expect speedy service, but what we got was exactly the opposite. There was the full menu, as well as a pre-theater menu(which was really weirdly worded… only stating the prices of the main course, then at the bottom of the menu telling you«If you order an entrée, the appetiser is free!). Usually a pre-theater menu comes at a fixed price, with maybe a supplement for a more expensive menu item. What you have here is an attempt at a variable priced pre-theater menu, which comes off as clunky and ill thought out. Atmosphere wise, well, no atmosphere at this time of the day, but in all fairness it was miserable outside and 12:30 in the afternoon, so a pass on that one. The food itself wasn’t very good. Aside from the majority of the table who had the ribs, which looked great, I opted to have a chicken and bacon«sandwich». What I got was a huge burger bun, with the tiniest chicken breast inside, a single strip of bacon, the whole thing smothered in cheese, then 4 red onion rings, 3 bits of tomato, a whole handful of lettuce, plus some fries. It wasn’t great. A colleague opted to have a cajun onion stack which was pretty much the same, only with a burger and the onions being deep fried. The appetisers, the buffalo bites, were just chicken nuggets coated in Frank’s hot sauce, which was probably the nicest part of the meal. To top it off, when the bill came(which was very high for such a poor meal), we were in a hurry to pay and leave with it being a work lunch, but it took almost 20 minutes for the waitress to find the keys to the till so she could give us some change. Not happy with the service or the food, maybe I should have just ordered the ribs since they seem to be the only thing anybody was praising. Meh/5

Been coming to Tony Romas for years. They definitely have the best ribs in the town. Really love their strawberry dsquiris and definitely one of the friendliest team of staff in the town.

I will admit to not having a wide knowledge of the menu in Tony Roma’s as every time I have been there is has been for the unlimited slab of ribs. This happens every Monday night and is £18 for ribs and a side. You can choose from 4 different sauces on your ribs and each one is very tasty. The service is great in tony Roma’s from the no net you walk in you are greeted by one of the American owners and swiftly taken to your table or the bar for a short wait. When you are having the ribs once they see you have complete a rack they are straight over to order yo more so can’t fault them there. I think that I will need to try some of the other options on the menu next time as it always looks good and they are not tight with the portions.

I had scampi to start with and the full rack of ribs with bourbon bbq sauce for main. Some good eating! for a busy night we were well looked after. I could hardly finish my food so the portions are spot on. Staff were good, was a girl who was obviously shift manager — very good, nice friendly service. Its good hearty food at a decent price. I would recommend this place to any one.

We’ve been here a few times and the food was lovely. Tasty, filling meals and the cocktails were great too! There is a great choice on the menu so whatever you’re into you should find it. The desserts are also lovely and you can get mini desserts which is great if you’re getting full, or if you can’t choose one so want a couple of different mini desserts. I hope to go back soon.

Tony Romas is great if you are looking for a plethora of meaty delights. I went for the ribs(obviously) and they did not disappoint. Not a massive fan of bbq sauce but they perfect it. Would defo recommend.

Peppered Chicken and chips — Yummy. Have been to Tony Roma’s twice now and both times I have had an excellent meal. The staff have been very friendly, attentive but not over the top. Food was reasonably priced and location is close to Belfast city centre & the University area. They also sell alcohol which is a bonus.

I have been to a few different Tony Roma’s as i enjoy the food and think it’s a decent enough chain restaurant. However this one in Belfast does not live up to the standards set by others in the group. I have been quite a few times and after the last visit have no desire to return. It started off well good meat food always well cooked, warm and tasty. However with each passing visit standards have slipped lower and lower. Ribs and burgers were both good to start with however the last burger I had was processed flavoured meat and the last time I had ribs they were tough as a boot and everything was cold. I sent back more than half my food. The restaurant has gradually slipped in terms of repair and its not a pleasant experience anymore.

There is one reason that this place is so popular and it is that their ribs are the fantastic. Tony Roma’s has a pretty laid back feel and offers a range of steak n chips, burgers and of course ribs. It has an Americana feel and is definitely a place to come with a group, it doesn’t really have the ambience for a date or anything cosy. Try the ribs in honey sauce, you will not be disappointed!

This restauruant has onyl been around for a couple of years but has quickly become a personal favourite. It specialises in ribs but also does great burgers, steaks, fish and pastas and many other dishes. When I go here I always get the ribs either St Lousis or Baby back style will do preferably with garlic sauce or the spicy sause. It is expensive but I have learned a couple of tricks. 1– On a Sunday they lunch menu is really cheap. 2– On a Monday night they have all you can eat ribs… I think it is time to fill those things we call boots.

This place is a bit of a Belfast landmark and many people that I worked with in Belfast would always go on and on and on and on about and how good the ribs were. Being from Bangor and having more refined tastes than the regular Belfast roughian I never made it in here until I was in my early 20s and, unsuprisingly, on a work night out with people from Belfast. There is lots on offer here but basically the only reason that makes this place stand out are the ribs. They are pretty damm good if truth be told. I don’t usually eat red meat and usually don’t eat meat when I’m out at all but thie ribs were top class. The service was quick, efficent and friendly and they didn’t even mind us getting a little bit lary after a few pintizzles. That is maybe why I can’t fully recommend this place because it is kind of for groups rather than for couples or whatever. Other than that its a pretty nice wee place and well worth its reputation.

If you want great ribs and great steak come here! I love Toni Roma’s, the food is fantastic, the restaurant is amazing and relaxing and the staff are superb. They do a mean cocktail and their standards have never slipped! We came in one night literally ten mins before closing(4 of us) and they sat us down gave us menus and took our drink order. We never felt rushed and had a great enjoyable meal. I always get the Rosemary Chicken with tomato pesto salad and champ… so good I just want to order it again! So worth a visit and can’t recommend this place enough!

Tony Roma’s has always held good memories for me, as it became a regular haunt for a few special friends of mine, one of whom is called Tony, which makes things even better! The restaurant is in a convenient place with ample on street parking nearby within a minute or two’s walk of the restaurant. The restaurant is large and spread over too floors with a classic Americana theme running through it. The staff I have encountered have always been attentive and friendly. My first ever vist here was with my girlfriend before a comedy gig, and my Sirloin Steak with garlic potatoes and tobacco onions were wonderful, with the Steak juicy and bursting with flavour. My girlfriend(as a compulsive Chicken addict) got a Delicious chicken Burger with champ and also enjoyed it. The menu is wide and will have something to cater to all tastes. However it wasn’t until I went with my friends that I realised the real glory of this place: the ribs. Oh sweet lord the Ribs! I never enjoyed ribs before, as usually the type from the Chinese etc have as much juicy meat action going on as a nun convention. These ribs however are a meat feat, with a wonderful smoky sauce draped around the ribs, that come with two sides of your choosing(However you will most likely not get finishing them, this is one beast of a meal!). On Monday nights there is also an «Endless Slab» offer where your ribs are refillable and will keep coming until you can handle no more. My friend Tony holds the record at 8 refills, and for that he is a modern day hero!

I felt inclined, whilst reviewing other restaurants, to update my review of Tony Roma’s, having been there for a pre-graduation meal very recently. This time my parents and my sister came along for the feast as well and as it was my special day(or so I told everyone) so my parents paid for the meal. We got the flat bread to start and to share amongst the five of us, as well as a portion of potato skins. Both starters were excellent and I still haven’t a notion how they make the flatbread so nice(or so flat). I got the half and half ribs and shrimp for my main. Having never tried shrimp before, I thought I would give this a go. Turned out I don’t like shrimp so unless you really like it, don’t go for it. The ribs were, as always, outstanding. Again there was no room for desert, and my parents picked up what was quite a pricey bill. I was a bit disheartened that the bill did come to so much, but everyone was stuffed and happy and I found a fiver on the way home, and then I graduated so all in all it was as good as ever!

Love love love American food. Think I was American in a previous incarnation, I swear. Just say ‘sticky ribs’ or ‘tuna melt’ to me and I become ecstatic… no wonder I put on over half a stone on my honeymoon in New York. Heyho, it was SO worth it. And so is a visit to Tony Romas. It’s in a good location, handy to some of the city centre bars like Laverys and The Parlour, and the food is great. I recently went after seeing a concert a friend was performing in and had of course, the ribs. Really lovely, and so was the service. We didn’t have to wait long for the food and it was well portioned too(one of my bug bears!) so I left here a happy bunny and went onwards to the Parlour to disgrace myself, but that’s another story!

This restaurant is delicious! Famous for its special tony romas ribs and burgers this is one of my favourite places to eat in belfast. Booking is advisable as often fully booked at the weekend. Service is good but as the restaurant is so popular can be a little on the slow side but well worth the weight. Food is reasonably priced around £10-£15 for a main course which is accompanied by two side orders. The restaurant is split over two floors and has an amazing transparent upper floor. The cocktails are gorgeous and are a must to try! Would highly recommend for a night out and a bite to eat!

I love this place!!! Always get the ribs platter that has them dones in a variety of different sauces. They also do a lovely blue cheese dip which is great for having along with the fries. It can be quite expensive but the portions are huge, and some dishes could easily be shared between two people.

The food is amazing and plentiful, HUGE portions! The staff are attentive and really friendly, one girl in particular who’s name I can’t remember. Pity you can’t book tables though, I hate having to go early or wait an hour on a table. It doesn’t put me off though.
