I don’t actually know why a tiny village needs a cocktail bar, but it’s a great Saturday night with the girls. This place is very XX chromosome for sure, but it gets more mixed after 11 when the pubs start to close. But I wasn’t quite feeling it, it’s not really dance-y and I’m a bit terrified I’ll run into people I haven’t seen in over 20 years, whilst a bit shit-faced. The bar staff were friendly, they have quite a massive cocktail and shots menu, if a little expensive. The drinks aren’t super strong either.

Bar Lorca has been here for a while and I admit isn’t somewhere we’ve been before. However, it’s recently changed ownership to the same crew that own Nyne’s in Bexleyheath. As such we recently visited the other week and were delighted to see some old faces there and we all had a great night. They’ve made some nice changes to the inside bar area and they are still making more to get it up to their own high standards. I’ve been told that the drinks menu will be developed over the coming weeks and the food menu we saw looked very tasty and reasonably priced. Say hello to Vinny when you get there, he’s a world class bar tender don’t you know. A really great guy who heads up a great team. If he can do to Bar Lorca what they’ve done to Nyne’s, then I have high hopes for the bar and it will become a regular haunt of ours. I’d definitely recommend starting to go now before it becomes so popular you find it hard to get in.
