I LOVE this place. Sure, it’s going through a bit of a depressing phase with a lot of shops closing down, but I’m choosing to view it as being like a tree shedding its dead leaves ready to shine in the spring. It’s always bounced back with bigger and better stores and I have no doubt it’ll do it again. The M&S is HUGE, enough to compete with Bluewater and a wide range of food and freshly baked bread. It has an Argos and Primark which makes it a better option than Bluewater or even London if you’re after a pair of socks and an ironing board or something else everyone needs, and it also boasts the old classics, like Tom Bells(the BEST fish and chip shop ANYWHERE) and even a Frankie and Bennys, which I always forget as I just don’t expect there to be one in such a small town centre. It recently underwent a redesign with a new website, active social media presence and as a result, it’s always easy to keep up to date with what is going on. Around Christmas time it even has a Santa’s Grotto — total winner for kids. The River Island is one of the fancier I’ve seen and most of the shops have a decent range of stock in, meaning you need not go online. The post office in WHSmiths and library round the back of it just completes the Broadway as the best place on earth for all your shopping needs. When you’re all done shopping, take a seat in the Costa located right in the middle of the centre and watch the world go by. Perfect. If you’re in the area, VISIT. You won’t regret it.

You know what. I LOVE The Broadway. This is a REVIEW for the whole of The Broadway also including The Mall. I have been living in bexleyheath for 6 years and i REALLY enjoy this area, it has EVERYTHING,. If you want parking, it has it. If you want clothes shops, it has it(Primark, New Look, H&M, BHS, M&S, TMaxx, Mothercare, etc plus independent clothes & shoe stores). If you want banks, it has it(Lloyds, Barclays, Santander, Nationwide, etc). if you want health/beauty/accessories stores, it has it(Large Boots, Large Superdrug, Holland & Barretts, Claires, Perfume Store, etc). If you want electrical stores, it has it(Robert Dyas, Wilkinson, Jessops, HMV, CEX, Game, Argos, etc). If you want phones, it has it(O2, Voda, Orange, 3G, T-mobile, Carphone warehouse, Phones4U, etc) If you want pubs, it has it(Jd Wetherspoon/Independent Pubs). If you want supermarkets, it has it(Sainsbury, Iceland, Asda, M&S, Poundland etc), you want Cinema it has it(Cineworld). If you have craving for chocolates!!!, it has it(Thorntons). If you want to book a Holiday, it has it(Thomas Cook, First Choice, Thomson). If you want Estate Agents, it has them as well… If you want Restaurants or cafes, it has it. If you want to look GORGEOUS(i am sure you already do!), it has numerous Hair dressers, Beauticians, Barbers, etc. If you want nightclubs, it has that too. There is a WHS& Post Office & Costa or Starbucks for your Caffine intake as well, there is also a fruit stall outside; near Lloyds Bank and a farmers Market occasionally(this is small though, wish it was bigger!!). There is seating outside to just pass the time away.NICE. If you want Tenpin Bowling it has that as well… Transportation covers a wide area, all buses stop outside The Mall(The Broadway). There is a Police Station near by, so security is FIRSTCLASS. BUT, the BESTBIT, is during XMAS… WOW, there are some kids fair rides, bouncy castle, food stalls and nik naks, which really make it feel like a WINTERWONDERLAND along the broadway… Oh and I have not even mentioned the NUMEROUS Fast Food outlets(McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Subway, The Pie Shop, Milkshake Store, Fish & Chips, etc etc.) & first class restaurants in the area for family occasions or for romantic dinners in the evening! or the Bingo next to the Cinema. Check it out, it really is GOOD… I LOVEITALL… HIGHLYRECOMMENDED

The Mall,(or The Broadway as it is often referred to) is a little like shopping in the High Street, only it is warm and you don’t get wet. All of the usual big name shops are inside with fashion, music, stationers, jewellery and electronic stores making up the bulk of businesses. You won’t find everything you want here but for the basics, it is alright. Footfall appears to have fallen since the opening of Bluewater a few years back meaning that it isn’t as busy as other malls. It can get busy during the school rush as Bexleyheath is the changing point for practically every route home in the Bexley borough. Plenty of parking is available in the multistory on site meaning you can shop and drop your goods off in your car before continuing shopping. Buses run to and from the whole Bexley borough although it is worth noting that The Mall is nowhere near the train station. The place has undergone a refurbishment recently which makes it look a lot nicer than it used to. It has public toilet facilities upstairs as well which is very useful for when you are spending whole days in Bexleyheath. For cold, horrible rainy days, The Mall sure beats the local High Streets.

The Broadway Shopping centre is a great place to shop with big brand name shops like Marks and Spencer, Boots, Woolworths etc and then lots of other little shops selling everything from clothes to books etc a full list of the shops can be found on their website. They also do shopmobility everyday from 10am to 3pm and you can even book an assistant to go round with you they are volunteers and very very helpful. In the middle of the centre is a nice café area with seating, reasonably priced for a coffee etc. There are large disabled toilets on the ground floor and plenty of parking which is payable by all including blue badge holders but it is very very cheap starting at 20p an hour. Well worth a day out as there’s tons more shops in Bexleyheath besides the centre.
