Badials is one of the oldest stores on the Soho Road and has grown to house just about everything you could think of in Asian fashion — from fabrics, women’s readymade outfits, children’s clothes, sarees, shoes, bags, jewellery and wedding supplies. Their range in fashion varies from basic to high-end prices and quality so you’re likely to find something that suits your budget. I always get carried away with the odd jewellery and accessories they have on display, which I never need but can’t resist! They have many sales assistants who stand out because they’re virtually all from India, very petite and will race behind you in eagerness to serve you. This can be irritating when you’re just browsing but I suppose they have sales targets to meet. I’m an avid shopper so have found some of what Badials sell elsewhere in pure fabrics at a better price, so it’s worth shopping around.

The display at the front of the shop suggests that this store is mainly targeted at Women. That is correct. But I did notice that within the shop there was a male sherwani on show. However despite this I did not see any male sherwanis on sale. So that made me ask myself why we would you have a male sherwani on show when you do not even sell any sherwanis. OK there are Men’s shirts on offer but that’s not the point. If you have something on show and you are not actually selling it, you do kind of feel cheated. I was disappointed by the fact Badial were not offering enough range in the Mens department. This is more a Ladies retail clothing shop and there are two floors of clothing. The ground floor has saris and blouses for Women whilst the first floor has Menswear and more saris for Women. There are also cooking saucepans as well as bangles on offer.
