This take-away has a good reputation locally for providing quality chinese food that is always delivered quickly. From the menu, my favourite has to be the crispy shreaded beef. It tastes so much better than other ones that I’ve tried elsewhere. The beef always tastes fresh and not chewy like you to tend to find with this particular dish. Although not the most chatty of people, the woman who tends to work on the front desk and answer the phone is always pleasent and ensures you receive a good service.

I am such a huge fan of Chinese cuisine but I’ve always struggled to find a take-out that doesn’t offer food that is too salty or greasy. You’re probably wondering why I bother because you may only have come across Chinese cuisine, which is both salty and oily. But I have been to numerous restaurants where the food is superbly seasoned and doesn’t leave a film of oil down your throat! Unfortunately Evergreen Chinese falls into one of many take-aways where the food is simply too greasy for my liking and heavy on salt yet bland on flavour. I bought a few different dishes to share with my family so I had a taste of their chow mein, kung pao chicken and spicy ribs. All I could taste was salt! On the other hand, if you enjoy salty food then this place would be great for you because the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous!

Evergreen is a great take-away for those occasions when you fancy a quick meal. They deliver fast(always arrive here in about 30 minutes or less), the girl that answers the phone is always very polite and patient, the delivery guy is friendly and the food is always delicious. Among the vegetarian dishes(the menu is written ‘vegrtarian dishes’ and has several other funny mistakes), my favorite is the fried green peppers in sweet and sour sauce — a classic, but they make it really good. The mushroom curry are also delicious and the chips, like most Chinese take-away chips(not sure why) are very tasty. Another good thing is that the minimum for delivery is only a fiver(generally tends to be £10). The drink menu is a bit lacking(Coke!) but if you happen to make an order for more than £25, you get a bottle of Coke for free. It’s not a groundbreaking menu or dazzling food but it is a good, cheap, standard Chinese takeaway.
