This store has a good selection though some genres are small, and a bit neglected. The blu Ray offering is now vastly extended though. There is a noticeable lack of air conditioning making the shopping experience here quite uncomfortable after a short while. Worth noting that O2 WiFi is available in store. Handy if you need to check IMDB, or someone’s wish list when browsing in the store.

Love coming here to buy new movies out on Blu-rays or buy posters. Being a big film junkie this place is like home. I get to be around people who are into films just like me. I know some come for the music but I like to see this place as film heaven. I get same feeling walking in Comic book store. I do walk in sometimes just to look for new movies I haven’t seen or pick up my favourite ones I haven’t owned. My favourite genre is Horror and Sci-fi. So I’m always looking at those categories. When I say Sci-fi I don’t mean comic book movies, a more grounded Sci-fi(moon, source code, limitless etc) So you know what to get me if you’ve been dying to find out what movies to get me :) They have offers for Blu-rays 3 for £20 or 5 for £30. Mainly are movies that have been out atleast a year. I like to pick Blu-rays which have more bonus features(Ultra Violet version)

This branch of the ubiquitous HMV empire has a very good selection of both chart and niche music, as well as DVDs and a commendable PC and video game department. They also have a range of audio-visual hardware on sale, although this is not particularly impressive compared to that of the nearby Dixon’s. Before Zavvi went out of business, I tended to shop there instead of HMV. Now HMV is pretty much the only dog in town, this is a decent enough alternative. The staff are all very helpful, even if the entire queuing area and ‘script’ the sales staff take you through during your purchases are a bit too ‘hard sell’ for my liking. You don’t tend to get that in the other HMVs in town, but as this is the Bull Ring, perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised.

My favourite HMV i have ever been to. I found that they stock so many types of music — perfect for any mood i may be in. They used to stock vinyl which i used to collect. They also used to have rock band set up which was always fun to play on. The prices can either be really good or sky high. It is always worth checking elsewhere or HMV online to make sure your getting a good price.

I find the staff here great and very helpful. I have often gone when it is very busy and thought I would be waiting in line for ages, yet the staff get the queues down quickly. They stock a massive range of music, dvds and games as well as t shirts. I find some great priced things when I visit and sometimes see things that are more expensive than elsewhere so it is worth looking around. Always has offers on throughout the store and has great sales, they always have the best deals advertised on posters outside the store. They usually write on the entrace a sign letting people know when they have games consoles in stock

I’m often disheartened by HMV which is probably the largest music stockist in the country. The choice is often limited and the staff can often be rude and unhelpful. Though this branch based in the Bullring is excellent. The last time I looked they even sold music singles which were out the chart(not the bargain basement stuff!) They sell DVDs, CD’s books and magazines. They have a massive range and there are often offers on like 2 CDs for £10. The staff are really helpful and you never have to queue for long. The people they have employed here really sem to know their stuff when it comes to music releases.
