A pleasant cosy coffee shop in Moseley. I popped in with friends for a sweet treat on a week day evening. It’s great that tgey are open so late as it’s an alternative to pubs. I chose a cherry mocha which was very sweet and indulgent. I also had a tiffin slice which was super. It was reasonably priced, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were friendly and efficient. Theree real selling point is the evening opening though.

A lovely selection of drinks on offer with a few food options too. I like when there are new tea options that I’ve never tried before. I opted for the cinnamon tea with soya milk. It is a shame that you have to pay extra for soya milk, it is 35p for a small amount.

The Java Lounge is a great little coffee house, situated right in the heart of Moseley village. I won’t bore you with what they offer, as its the typical coffee and cake fare. That said the choice of coffee is fantastic. What I will say is that the coffee is great quality, the prices are excellent, and the surroundings are comfortable, with usually more than enough seating to accommodate the customers. Birmingham(and indeed Moseley) isn’t short of good independent coffee houses any more, but although Java isnt as slick as some of the competition, they do an excellent cup of coffee and offer a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Swapped my normal Sunday lunch pub trip to Java today, as I am trying to complete Dry January and having been chained to my keyboard for most of the weekend I needed to get out. I wasn’t disappointed, was able to find a couple of seats easily, the atmosphere was chilled and the staff were friendly, perfect treat for a Sunday. I had a Chai Latte, my first experience of tasting one, which I had heard good things about them. Sadly, it was far to sweet for my taste buds so wasn’t able to finish, but I did have a sip of my husbands flat white which was lovely and will be my choice on my return. Great place to catch up and relax would recommend a visit.

Having heard rave reviews of the Java Lounge from the Community, I knew I needed an excuse to check this place out. A breakfast meeting in Kings Heath provided the perfect opportunity to use this coffee spot as a morning office. Firstly, let’s talk Moseley. It’s super easy to find the venues around here as they are all on the main street or off the crossroads. I walked down from Kings Heath(only about 1.5 miles — so not massively far) and was pleased to note that this venue was smack int the middle of Moseley town centre. It’s cute and vibrant signage lead the way into a relaxing environment to enjoy a coffee or a cheeky sweet treat. I grabbed a table near the door(there is a selection of tables, benches and outside seating to choose from), plugged my laptop in(there are powerpoints avaliable) and sauntered up to the counter to make my selection. There is a fair amount of choice(coffee, tea and a selection of cold drinks) available here! The two customers in front of me were discussing the merits of various blends with the waitress and after hearing about a particularly chocolately blend, I knew this had to be my choice. My single origin filter coffee was £2.75(which is about standard for a specialist coffee shop these days). Although not advertised in the venue(well, I couldn’t see it anyway) there is WiFI available and the waitress handily provided me with a little slip of paper advising the router name and the password. I am pleased to say that this was fast and reliable and allowed me to do my work without any problems! I had a very pleasant two hours working in this venue. The customers drifted in and out, but the chilled environment lent itself to homeworking and I wasn’t bothered to buy another drink while I was working. I would recommend this as a place for a casual meet up with friends or somewhere to get your head down and get things done!

This is/was one of my favourite places to go and read a newspaper whilst stroking an imaginary beard and pretending to be a sophisticated Muesli resident. The drinks are freshly made(as one would hope!) and there is an excellent range of buns at the very reasonable cost of 80 pence. A very relaxed atmosphere is prevalent and the music is the perfect soundtrack for this part of town. If you read my reviews you’ll know there’s always at least one BUT… so here it is! It is £1.50PERHOUR to use the internet. The real issue is you still have to pay £1.50 even if you go in as an eating-and-drinking customer and use your laptop. I would have thought it would be free for paying customers, but chargeable if you go in and use their PC’s for internet access and buy nothing else. Bit of a rum do, no? Anyway, you pays your money and you takes your choice I suppose. But yesterday I spent £7.50 on coffees and buns and then had the charges dropped on me like a tonne of ethically-sourced rubble. I’ll be back… but without my laptop.

Java Lounge is a funky little coffee shop that serves snacks as well. With a tasteful colour scheme of muted browns and reds, relaxed service and high quality coffee it covers most bases you would expect such a shop to cover, with internet access and cakes for sale. The coffee is possibly the best in Moseley, just be careful if you try the«strong» coffee as it’s called strong because it is! When I lived around the corner from this place I used to go in fairly regularly to use the computers they have available for internet access and never had any issues with the place. The staff always seemed on the ball and professional. There’s often a few customers in there but it never seems too busy when I go in on a weekday — perhaps this changes on a saturday morning. If you’re a smoker, or just fancy drinking your coffee outside then there’s a few tables out the front. In conclusion, a great little buisness.

Java lounge has a vibrant and eye-catching décor, for some reason it evokes the image of a lava lamp in my mind. Java, lava? O what am I like! I like joints like Java Lounge, they offer something very unique that can’t be replicated by large chain coffee stores — the intimacy, the relaxed environment and the great taste in music create a lovely place to watch the world pass by whilst sipping on a refreshing fruity beverage or a good cup of joe. I like places that bring the laid-back nature of other culture’s cafés — they have a charm unlike British cafés that I have been to. Java lounge does this very well indeed.

The Java Coffee Lounge is a well decorated and well lit coffee house. Its small intimate environment makes it the perfect place to have a non alcoholic drink and sit down and read a book. Java also offers internet through three PC terminals and Wi-Fi if you have a laptop. It is 50p for 15 mins and 1 Pound for half an hour, the Wi-Fi costs the same. I found this to be slightly expensive due to the fact that it is free in most other bars and cafes around Moseley Village. The coffee is what you would expect from an independent coffee shop. They use a nice rich blend which is certain to keep the blood pumping after a long day. They also have a selection of cakes and cookies starting at just 70p. They all taste pretty good and are perfect as an accompaniment to their rich, dark coffee.

If you love the typical concept of a nice café, you will enjoy spending some time at this tiny but cosy space! Located on the Alcester Road, in Moseley, Java Lounge has a very friendly staff. Once I chose my drink — that could better vary from a nice cup of latte to a nice fruit smoothie– due to the several options offered there, I have relaxed for a while. The Latin music played in the background as well as the exotic and colourful décor also help if you want to chill out after a long day. But what made me decide for reviewing the place was certainly the pastry chocolate cookie of gods that I have tried there. Best 70 pence ever spent indeed!

Excellent place to unwind after a long day/week. Their heavenly drinks range from flavoured teas to refreshing milkshakes and healthy smoothies. They also do delicious salads and tasty wraps. The place has an exotic colour scheme with palm trees that gives it a mediteranean feel. Java Lounge also provides fast internet access, photocopying and photo printing. The customer service is excellent too. Definately my favourite coffee shop.
