Went with a group of friends on a Thursday night. Booked easily and staff greeted us at the door. It’s byob but there’s a nice selection of soft drinks. Food was good — Tasty and good portion sizes. Décor was also nice.

I must say it is an authentic Moroccan cuisine in the heart of Moseley Birmingham. Whole restaurant is themed with traditional Moroccan heritage. Carpets, painting and especially seating area have been set up with that in mind. Food was excellent and I had fabulous time there. It’s well worth the money.

This North African restaurant is packed full of charm and a great one to visit both with a group of friends or with your family. This is my favourite type of cuisine as it reminds me of times I spend in Algeria with my family over there. The host is always very welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious. My favourite thing to order here is the lamb tagine with apricots but my mum swears by their couscous dishes. It was a sad day for me when the mixed brochettes no longer came with lamb. When I enquired about this the waiter explained they had had complaints about the lamb being too tough so now lamb is reserved for the tagines only. It is true that the lamb is of a tenderness that can only really be achieved by slow cooking. They are known for their fish dishes and although I loved the sea bass I chose from the specials board I was envious of my friend’s tagine. Mezze starter is a great way to get your taste buds tingling. For alcoholic drinks you can bring your own(somewhat lowers the price of the evening) and Mace and Drinksville are within metres of this restaurant. I think everyone should try this restaurant at least once!

La Fibule is another of Moseley’s restaurant gems that you should consider booking in advance, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening. The food is North African so expect lots of yummy couscous and tagines. I can highly recommend the lamb and apricot tagine but I always find making a decision between this and their fish difficult. Often they have specials, including plenty of fish dishes, depending on what is in season and what they sourced that day at the market. It doesn’t serve alcohol and this normally divides my friends. Most are happy to save some money and go to the off licence before hand. Others are disappointed they can’t have a decent gin and tonic but you can even get those in a can these days so as long as you plan ahead everyone should be happy. It is very cosy inside especially when it is busy(most of the time) but this combined with the friendly staff make for a memorable evening. An ideal place for special occasions such as birthdays.

An excellent night out with great food. Good for small groups too, we had a friends birthday here recently and they catered well for 12, all the food arriving hot in good time. The service comes with a chat and a smile and we always feel most welcome. Not truly authentic but as close as you will get in brum. One small gripe, they need to have Harissa available.

With an authentic-looking interior and food that comes served piping hot in traditional tagines, La Fibule is a hidden treasure for anyone who enjoys Moroccan food. The entire restaurant, modestly-sized though it may be, is routinely filled with the tantalising aromas wafting out of the kitchen. It’s quite intimate in there, and the tables are often crowded close together on busy nights. The food isn’t cheap, but given the scarcity of other similar restaurants in the immediate area, I have no real basis for comparison. As far as quality and taste is concerned, La Fibule has these in spades. The vegetarian selection could do with some work, but what they do have is nice enough to keep me going back there whenever I can.

Authentic Moroccan restaurant located on the increasingly popular Woodbridge Road in Moseley. Décor and furnishings were shipped direct from Morocco according to our waiter. Bring your own booze means that you can have a great bottle with your meal without breaking the bank(there is a good off license a few doors away). Specials board and regular change of menu means that I have never tired of visiting here, neither have I failed to thoroughly enjoy a meal. Oh and their mint tea is perfect for finishing! Always busy so booking recommended.

La Fibule is a fantastic restauarnat situated on the edge of moseleys thriving social scene. Any one liking morrocan cuisine should look no further than this charming authentic addition to Birminghams eating out culture. Beautifully presented starters and main courses that will do nothing less than impress and with the bring your own booze rule it makes for a very modestly priced night out. ***
