Not the healthiest of options when you’re peckish. I fancy this establishment as one to come with a few friends and buy a pizza to share and then a few other things you might fancy. That’s obviously being greedy but the prices are good here. They sell kebabs, burgers and pizzas. The smell makes you become over zealous in your approach to ordering, it smells too nice and I usually get a bit order-happy. Kebab from here is particularly nice and great with a bit of chilli sauce and mayo mixed together. Located on the busy Pershore road, they attract a lot of custom.

I was mega hungry the other day and was in need of something unhealthy, but filling. I happened across this eatery and decided to go in because it seemed like the perfect place to suit my needs. They sell a wide range of fried foods, pizzas and kebabs. I went for the chicken doner in a large size. The chicken meat was nice and moist and it didn’t have any gristle in it. It was also very well seasoned, I prefer a moderate seasoning. Some kebab houses put too much sauce on; others put no sauce at all on making the kebab taste too bland. This was absolutely perfect and I eat the kebab in super speed time. The shop was crowded with young squealing girls from a nearby girl’s school, this was a little irritating, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the kebab experience. I just won’t be coming back here at kicking out time again.

The place is to plainly put it, cheap and cheerful! I popped in once after a trip to a local pub and stumbled in late in the evening with a couple of friends. I was craving a burger and chips and that is what I got. The staff were quite entertaining, although I think they were more amused at my friends and I who were drunkenly reading the menu out word for word, attempting to decide what we wanted. Even after ordering we continued to read out the menu… ahem. Anyway, I did order a cheese burger and chips, which was so cheap that I was in awe of the place for about twenty minutes. The food did not take long at all and it tasted really good, very greasy, but in a good way! This place is great if you are craving some cheap fast food or if you have boozy late night cravings!

How about this for a fresh Unilocal review — I used this place for the first time less than 15 hours ago! It was a bank holiday in the UK yesterday and, fancying some fish and chips, I ventured out to my local chippy — The Dolphin Fish Bar — to discover it was closed. Suspecting that the same might be the case with Dads Lane, I headed off in the car in the direction of Moseley in search of a chippy, and noticed on the way that Megabite was open, so in I went. I got a mini fish and chips for my wife for £1.50 and I had a rather bizarre Kebab Wrap(+ chips) for £2.50. Last of the big spenders that I am, I was rather chuffed to have secured dinner for two for considerably under a fiver, so I spent the change on some chicken wings. The man behind the counter was friendly and chatty and we passed the time of day whilst the fish was frying, which was as pleasant as it was unexpected. Once back home we tucked in and found that the food was pretty good. My kebab wrap(essentially a doner kebab made with a Mexican tortilla, rather than a pitta) was pretty tasty and the fries were those halfway house things — not quite chip shop chips, not quite french fries — and they were tasty. The chicken wings were so-so, but didn’t detract from a largely positive experience.

It’s very difficult to live in birmingham and avoid takeaways like Megabite. Instead of specialising in pizza, kebabs or burgers, Megabite does them all. They even take the innovative step of combining some of these great foods in their“curryfied pizza”(«curryfied» being their word not mine). There’s also a wide range of meal deals of the«two pieces of chicken and chips for 2.99» variety. A quick survey of my friends reveals that the triple burger meal is thought of as a «heart attack meal, but one that will definitely fill you up». Other products include the worryingly named«meat samosa» — personally, if I’m eating an animal, I at least want to know what kind it is, thankyou. By this point in the review you can probably guess that Meagbite isn’t the heathliest eatery in the world. However, it is good value, the service is never less than keen, and the selection is wide enough to suit most tastes. Providing you don’t mind a bit of grease that is.

As the name connotes Mega Bite is the place to visit if you’re feeling a little bit greedy. It is a fast food establishment which serves up everything from manageable pizzas right the way through to mouth wateringly monstrous kebabs. It’s not the biggest establishment but they do have seating facilities if you’re simply too ravenous to wait until you return home to tuck in to your tucker. In recent months they have even added a delivery service, so you can have their greasy delights delivered to your doorstep! The staff here are always pretty friendly and the waiting times are reasonable. I’d recommend their chicken burgers which are undoubtedly a match for the fare served up at more well known takeaways and often leave you wanting seconds. Being such a large city the fast food market in Birmingham is incomprehensibly crowded, but for a small local outlet Mega Bite certainly manages to hold its own!
