I have mid-length naturally wavy hair. Cut badly, it looks awful. Cut properly, it looks fabulous. Kate has been cutting my hair for some time now, and I simply don’t trust anybody else. Helen is an excellent colourist and I trust her advice implicitly. Service at the salon is usually great and they keep me supplied with hot drinks and magazines. I have had too many bad cuts at other places to risk going anywhere else. The staff are great. Yes it’s expensive, but a bad haircut can make you miserable for six months. To the student who thought £130 was«Wopping»(sic) — there is one salon in central Birmingham you really shouldn’t walk through the door of, but I will leave you to find it. x

I am a student and booked a hair cut and highlighting session at Nicky Clarke for my prom. I informed the receptionist that I had a student discount card before I underwent the cut and colour. I expected to receive a promised 20% discount from my final bill. The receptionist informed me that as I hadnt made it clear that I had a student card I wasnt entitled to the discount. My hair treatment cost a wopping £130. I would never have had it done if I had known that they would be difficult about the discount. A really disappointing ending to an overpriced hair treatment. I can’t recommend Nicky Clarke above other good hair salons. Really disappointed.
