Park View Gallery

My flat mate is an artist and he is always looking for affordable frames, or at least nice frames in which to frame his wonderful paintings. We came in here a while ago as he had mentioned it to me and when we were in the area we decided to pop in and have a nosey around. Inside they have some lovely pieces of art which are displayed and it is quite nice to just leisurely browse around the place. As I browsed around my flat mate spoke to the chap about getting his pictures framed, I think he advised him well and he was happy with the prices of the frame so he decided to get several paintings framed. Overall, I think that this is a lovely frame shop with an even nicer gallery inside. Definitely worth a visit!

I drove past this place for years and years and never really gave it a second thought — I think I’d pigeon-​holed it as a place where you’d get fairly sub-​standard watercolours at high prices. I was wrong, of course, because, amongst other things, it’s actually a really, really good picture framing shop. Now that I know it’s there and have used it, I recommend it to my friends. Once you go down the route of getting stuff framed, you enter a whole new universe. It’s weird.
Alongside the picture framing, which as I said is a great service done to a really high quality, I was unfair about the gallery itself. Yes, there are watercolours, but there is also a really cleverly constructed program of exhibitions running throughout the year. This place is a bit of a hidden gem!

Park View Gallery is a picture framers and gallery on the corner of Avenue and Vicarage Road.
Not only does Park View offer a bespoke picture framing service but also exhibits the work of local and national artists in a wide range of mediums including paintings, photography, jewellery and ceramics.
My family have used Park View for a couple of hanging and framing jobs and even had a piece of jewellery mounted, which highlighting Roger’s versatility.
At the most recent exhibition the work of Jon Jones, a portrait painter was shown and was in fact the artists first solo exhibition since 2008 and his first in Birmingham for four years. His work was striking and gave a real sense of the lives of his subjects.
Park View is expanding with a café planned by owner Roger, so if you have never visited then there’s all the more reason to do so.
