I was at a course in birmingham over the weekend and this was going to be my place to go for lunch as i only had 20 minutes. My lunch was early at 12pm but when i go to this shop all the sandwiches were sold out! Its crazy thats a shop which is bang in the city hasn’t got enough stock to serve an area of this size.

Just had a refit and well designed it is. Noticeably more stock and more automatic pay points. Much improved.

This Sainsbury’s Local is a well situated mini supermarket, stocking a reasonable selection of ready meals and snacks, which is unsurprising considering the majority of its customers after a certain time are the drunks staggering in off Broad Street. There is a decent selection of Indian, Chinese and Italian options that are regularly bundled as meal deals, giving you the option of picking a starter, main dish and sundries for a very reasonable price. There is a well-stocked in-store bakery and a wide variety of beers and wines. It is, however, inexplicably almost completely devoid of a frozen food section(Häagen-Dazs alone doesn’t count!). Since the store stays open until late in the evening, Sainsbury’s Local is handy if you run out of that crucial ingredient for your late night baking needs. Otherwise, I’d recommend going to the nearby Tesco, which offers a far better value on a much wider range of produce.

Ein bisserl’ zu teuer, und man findet nicht immer alles. Da aber kein discounter in der nähe ist muss man hier hin.
