Summer Row is a collection of bars and restaurants in the awkward bit between the City Centre and the Jewellery Quarter. It would be a natural haunt for someone like me(who walks past here almost every day), but strangely I don’t actually visit very often. As you hit the start of Summer Row you’ll find Fleet Street Kitchen( ) which is OK, but nothing special. From here on you’ve got Mechu( ), Apres( ) and the Shakespeare( ) before hitting the UCB(College of food). The best thing I can say is that it looks really lovely at night. The buildings are all lit up and look really inviting to the passerby, but they don’t really offer anything different that you might find in the City Centre. There are no cash points down here, but there is limited on street parking(which is free in the evening). I wouldn’t say this is a hot spot at night, but if those venues seem your thing — then pop down and bask in the cool purple and blue lights that shine down on Summer Row in the evening.
