How has the Jewellery Quarter’s beloved Temple of Relief not had any reviews? This Victorian urinal(I kid you not) has had pride of place outside the Jewellery Quarter Train Station for as long as I can remember. In fact, I didn’t even know what it was until a local history buff informed me about how special it was(due to the materials of it’s construction and the intricacy of the ironwork around it). It is a Grade II listed landmark, made out of cast iron. I wish I could tell you more(I used to know loads of interesting facts), but the sign on the front of it gives you a little more info(See photos). It’s one of those things you might have walked past a million times before and never given a second thought. Next time you head to the train station, give it a glance! Firstly, it’s got a great name. Secondly, it’s another little slice of history(and one of a kind) in Birmingham’s fabulous Jewellery Quarter. Now, go forth and amuse and entertain your friends with your newfound JQ titbit of info!
