Hidden in deepest, darkest West Heath is this gem of an Indian. Thania Spice is easily one the best Indian’s I’ve been too. The food is too die for, it has a fairly typical Indian menu but some amazing Bangladeshi dishes and chef’s specials. The chef will also make bespoke dishes to your requirements if requested. The prices are also amazing, you can get a 4 course meal for 2 for about 35 quid. The staff are friendly and helpful and will bend over backwards to make your visit to the outskirts of Brum worth it. The interior is modern and bright, although the toilets are a little dark. For group booking I would recommend phoning ahead and booking a table, but for groups of less than 5 you can just rock up and normally get seated straight away(unless it’s a Friday). Thania Spice isn’t licensed, so bring your own alcohol, it does serve soft drinks and coffee. The only reason I’ve given it 4 stars not 5 is because there is no disabled access, the restaurant is on the first floor above a shop. My top tip: On Tuesday and Thursday, you can get a 4 courses(popadoms, starter, main, rice/naan, coffee) for 8quid! Bargain!
