Love coming here; it’s got a great atmosphere and lots of space to socialise. Came in a big group for dinner and we’d booked the Board Room which is perfect for about 15 – 20 people eating and stunning setting. Our server was very efficient but perhaps a little terse, probably because she needed the room back by 8 and some of the group arrived at odd times. Plenty of choice on the menu. Mushroom starter delicious. Seafood linguine a little oily for my liking but no one had any complaints. Very much recommend a night out here. So good I was meant to leave at 9 but stayed out til midnight!

It’s lovely and spacious inside, nice venue, located in Central Birmingham, good atmosphere. I’ve been here a few times with a group before, it’s little more expensive than your average pub but it’s worth it. You may not find the usual stuff and that’s great! From ciabatta to salmon ceasar salad and their cocktail, it was always a pleasant surprise. The lunch deal is a good one.

The Lost and Found is a wonderful bar in the city centre. The building is opulent and the interior is stylish and works very well with the classic building! Alongside this, it is always buzzing. I have never been here and there has not been a decent atmosphere. I last visited a week ago on Saturday night and although the place is very busy, service at the bar was efficient and friendly which really does set it apart from other cocktail bars where you can wait for what seems like an eternity for your drink. Speaking of cocktails, the ones here are divine. There is a vast selection with something for everyone and they change with the seasons. There is also a great selection of lagers and ales, both on draught and bottled, which i was sampling when here last. You won’t get much change from a fiver but that’s to be expected in a bar like this in a city centre! The value for money is great and whenever you visit with someone who has not yet been here, they are always impressed! Perfect for kicking off your Saturday night, having some after work drinks in the week or even a date. I would highly recommend!

I loved everything about this place. The food was wonderful, but the drinks menu made this place shine. It offered a wonderful variety of delicious and unique combinations in varying spirits and even plots all their cocktails on a spectrum to help you find one that’s right for you. Service was quite good as well.

Quality cocktails and hearty food. Set in what used to be a bank The Lost and Found is a really nice place to sit and eat, as well as go for some well-earned after work drinks. Despite the scale of the place The Lost & Found manages to create a surprisingly cosy atmosphere, they have what I can only describe as a Victorian explorer feel in there and it works really well. Cocktails are the order of the day here but it isn’t a cocktail bar though so don’t be put off by that(although you will miss out on some really cracking cocktails) if you aren’t a cocktail drinker. They have a good identity going through the offering, lots of herbaceous touches that are a little different to the norm. Food is generally good, although it has been a little hit and miss, and it’s nice that you get full table service. One of the advantages of that is not having to go to the bar which can get extremely busy at the weekend. You can book in advance and the place does get very busy sometimes so it might be worth it. The food itself is of that refined pub food type, personally I really like it, gives you more than a basic pub but still satisfies the soul. Now I’ve been mentioning how busy it can be for a reason, if you want a quiet meal at the weekend go elsewhere but you’ll be fine in the day or weekday evenings. If you’re looking for somewhere to book for a party/event there is a special room hidden behind a bookcase…

I was amazed how busy this place was! I stepped in and the atmosphere was great, people sitting and standing with their drinks everywhere. The décor was creative a very different… Starting with upside down hanging flowerpots and ending with the bookshelf wallpaper — Cool! While having the food, I thought it was very loud in the restaurant but the food was«only ok». The green beans were totally raw and tasted as if they hadn’t seen any boiling water. The burger was very nice though! The service was friendly but didn’t ´seem to have time for the details. She brought us some sauces from a different table which were half empty and covered with crumbs of chips from other people… hmm I would definitely come back here to have some drinks!

I love The Lost and Found! A cocktail bar in an old bank which also sells food, it’s been open for a few years now and has become one of my go-to bars in the area. It’s sweetly decorated in a Victorian botanical garden style, with bird cages and flowers everywhere. This works perfectly in the old building. There’s lots of space but never quite enough seats. When you enter you can either wait to be taken to a table for food or you can go straight through to the bar for drinks. If waiting for food, there are a couple of diner-only areas with table service. I’ve usually found the food to be good enough as long as they stick to the classics– fish and chips, burgers, salads and so on. The highlight of The Lost and Found is really the cocktails. As well as serving a few of the classics, you can get twists on classics and their own inventions. Last night I had the best Aviation cocktail I’ve ever had, served in a perfectly chilled glass. It was sharp and fragrant at the same time. It gets crazily busy on weekend evenings despite all the space in there so I’ve often ended up leaning, which wouldn’t be great for everyone.

The Lost & Found has lots of quirky features that I really like. The bar sweeps around a corner so there are plenty of places to be served, the dining area made me question whether I was in Tuscany with it’s vineyard décor(it is a little small so would like to see it expanded). The one part of the building has wallpaper to make it look like a library so I felt like Belle from Beauty & the beast: P The walls are so long because the ceilings are so high. So despite it often getting packed, it feels both roomy & cosy. I also like the adventure to find the loos because there are a few twists & turn down a long corridor to find them. The toilets have house doors on each cubicle which is a nice touch

«The patrons are rude and obnoxious, but the drinks, dining and service are top!!» This was the last night I spent with my girlfriend in Birmingham. We made reservations and were promptly seated upon arrival. Our table was marked with a cute little note on a bottle. Points! Drinks took long but they were slammed. It happens. Our waitress Joseline was super nice and tried to make our experience as wonderful as possible. Note to the owner &/or manager — she’s a keeper! Bottom line, this experience cost only a mere 1⁄3 of our tab at Aqua Shard a couple days prior, but Lost & Found had much better starters, cocktails, entrees and dessert. The glasses were actually clean and the silverware looked… like it wasn’t handed down 3 generations, lol. It wasn’t even close! Just go on a night other than Friday or Saturday so you can have a conversation. Or not — if you don’t feel like talking to each other. Lol Either way, it’s a good bet!

I visited with our friends yesterday on a very busy Saturday in April. The place was packed and we struggled to get somewhere to sit to start with but a table near the bar became free fairly quickly, and we jumped at the chance and sat down to enjoy our cocktails which were absolutely amazing. This place is a cocktail heaven. We had arrived an hour early planning to have a couple of cocktails before we ate. We were asked if we wanted to go to our table early, which we decided we would. We were seated in the boardroom which was great for a party of 5, The door was left ajar so we still had the atmosphere of a busy place but also a private dining experience. The guy who served us was very friendly and efficient. Food was great, lovely flavoursome food, cocktails were fantastic and we had a lovely evening with our friends. Would definitely go again and highly recommend.

A big, airy and spacious bar with high ceilings and a lavish victorian look and feel to it full of character and vintage charm. A fantastic range of beers on draught including Meantime English pilsner and Birra Moretti, range of ales and very large range of spirits. An extensive cocktail menu with most cocktails near £8 however they are very popular here and most people were continually ordering them throughout the night. The food menu is gourmet style classic British food and looks very good indeed. I will try the food on my next visit here. Walking distance from Snow Hill station. All in all a great bar for socialising and meeting up with that special someone.

I had been to lost and found only once before, and had a pretty average experience, but post-yelp event lead to another chance for me to try this place out. Now I’m not really a cocktail drinker, so I’m not exactly their typical customer, and I’m yet to try any food, but I’ll try and keep this as objective possible :-O So Lost & Found is a complete makeover of the long standing Bennetts Wine Bar, a bar that was a hive of mediocrity, but always a pretty impressive building. Lost & Found capitalises on this interesting architecture by creating an indoor/outdoor world complete with hidden passage behind a bookcase. Its a great place to walk into. Cocktails is their main game, and the other Unilocalers I was with certainly seemed to enjoy their various drinks. The cocktail menu is pretty innovative, with lots of interesting ingredients throughout. I was also pleased to see a good selection of beers, 3 cask, loads of choice of larger and even an american craft beer. Once of the issues I had about the place on my previous trip was the totally uninterested staff, but on this occasion the barman was friendly and super efficient so if this is representative on the way things are going, well done to L&F for improving. As it goes, the place is definitely back on my list of potential places to go for a drink, especially if I have cocktail drinking friends in tow, and I’m looking forward to trying the food menu.

I love this bar, it just feels right, a bit upmarket, fabulous cocktails, set in the fashionable snow hill area of Birmingham the only shame is I always have to be the first to leave to catch the 11.00pm train. I’ve yet to try the food, the menu does look good, but for me this is a lovely wine bar that does do lovely cocktails. It is a perfect meeting place for drinks with friends in a lovely environment. If I’m in town with friends our evenings always seem to end here, and I’m glad. If you live in brum you have no excuse to not visit, and if you are visiting Birmingham then call in at the lost and found for a glass of wine or a cocktail. I think this may be my favourite bar in Birmingham, but until I’ve tried them all I will reserve judgement and just say it is a great bar, although last nights service seemed slow, I did feel bad for sending my friend to get me a drink, but I was on a stool and it was quite high and I had heels on so I did feel bad that Adam spent over 10 minutes waiting for 2 drinks, but they were stunning looking cocktails when he did bring them back to our table. The sloe gin cobbler was orange in colour and decorated with slices of dried orange and dusted with icing sugar, lots of crushed ice and a lovely citrusy kick, lovely if you don’t have a sweet tooth.

I’ve been here a number of times for after-work drinks and once or twice at the weekends. Its got a great location right in the centre of town and is a beautiful old building. The décor is nice — floral and there’s a good use of the high ceilings. Its recently been refurbished but from what I can see they just added more seating — which they definitely needed. Where there used to be one large table there are now three smaller separate tables. This is much better as on some nights that I’ve been there, three people took the whole table and lots of larger groups were left standing. They serve cocktails which are priced at only £5 during the week at certain times. The cocktail menu is good but there does seem be a low ratio of alcohol to ice, which is frustrating. There’s a decent wine list serving up all the regular favourites. I have eaten here but it was a while ago so I don’t think I can pass a judgment on that as I believe the menu has changed since then.

Lost & Found is a stylish cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Birmingham. The impressive building’s previous uses have included a bank and a wine bar and it retains some grand architectural features. Lost & Found’s décor makes the most of these features, with an eccentric Victorian theme that incorporates an internal ‘garden’ space, a library area and a grand lounge style bar. The cocktails at the Lost & Found are great. The menu offers all sorts of classics and unusual drinks, including several sweet themed treats. The last time I went I had a Hansel & Gretel, a lemon and ginger cocktail complete with mini gingerbread man on top. Cocktails cost around £7−9 and there are often drinks offers on certain cocktails. The food can be a mixed bag in my experience. I have had a rather lacklustre duck salad before. On my last visit, however, I was hungry and went for the Lost & Found buger, which did not disappoint. A Big, juicy, beef burger on a soft brioche bun, with relish and pickles. I added pulled pork for an extra £1.50, making it all the more delicious. The burger came with coleslaw, relish and chunky chips. It really did the job!

Really lovely meal with my friend Charlotte at this pub that was once Bennetts and originally an old bank. Décor is great — wonderful bookshelf wallpaper and soft lighting. Seating also comfortable with plenty of booths for groups or couples. Service also efficient. There is also a secret room for private hire! Grilled steak burger with fries was delicious(£10.35 approx.) but a wide selection of salads sharing platters, meat and pasta available, from £6−15. The cocktail menu is great and we sampled quite a few! Cocktails are £5 Mon-Fri before 8pm:)

I love this joint and normally have a great time here, so it was with great dismay that I have to update my review with 2 stars rather than 5… We popped here after our meal at Purnells on Sunday for a «dessert cocktail» treat. I am a huge fan of cocktails and really rate the different concoctions at Lost & Found, but the whole thing was a disappointing experience. The place was pretty quiet for a weekend. This was a good thing, as sometimes the wait for cocktails can be pretty excruciating(Pro Tip: the wait around the bar can be avoided if eating and ordering table service). After we had found a table in the bar area, we perused the beaten up and water damaged(time for some new prints, I think) menu’s to confirm what I knew I wanted anyway… A Sir Elliots Milkshake. Off Dan trotted to the bar to obtain two of these delicious milky creamy boozy treats. What greeted him was the grumpiest bar man in history. Not a smile, not a nice word to say; just pure grumpiness. Again, a shame as the staff in L&F have always been chatty and friendly when I’ve been before. Next disappointment; the cocktails themselves. Now, fellow cocktail drinkers will know about the«ice» issue in certain establishments. Y’know… when you order a delicious treat and end up with 60% ice and 40% actual liquid? This particular cocktail was more like 90% ice(I kid you not). We struggled to find much to actually drink. We were contemplating having another one… but decided against it(as it would mean dealing with scowly barman and potentially another icicle of a drink). All in all, I will go back. I do imagine this was a «one-off» rather than a new standard for the venue… still… a shame as it was a special day and the experience was mediocre at best.

What an elaborate, lush and exquisite building. A greenhouse area, a mezzanine area, and a bookcase that leads to a secret bar. And that’s just the first things I noticed(or was told about). The sheer vast size of this bar is impressive enough. I came here for lunch and gladly shared the veggie mezze sharing platter. Falafel, houmous, I cant even remember what other yummy things. But between the two of us we polished it off. And I do remember how delicious my carrot soup was too. Scrumptious really. A small door on a corner that opens up to this beautiful building. Go on, give it a go.

I feel a little bit bad about leaving this place 2 stars. It’s actually a nice restaurant and has great potential. However the service is really terrible and food quality is unreliable. The staff are very friendly but a little bit absent minded and not very attentive… The tablets they use to take orders are cool but do not seem to help with efficiency in the least. I have dined here 5 times now and I cannot think of one time where the service was prompt. The last time it particularly bad: it took me 30 minutes to get my drink, 45 minutes to get my soup, 1 hour and 15 minutes to get my main course and then I had to go up to the counter after 2 hours to pay or I would never have left. I have thought of a few reasons for why I should need 2 hours to eat dinner. One reason I thought of was that there is a French theme in many of the dishes and as such they might want to encourage longer dining experiences by delaying service. But I quickly realized that this could not be the case because that would require faster drink service to keep the conversation going and boredom at bay… They do have a number of delicious cocktails and most people come there for that so a bit of a wait is understandable(although 30 minutes seems a but much). I would like to note that I think it is a bit annoying that only a small number if the cocktails go on special for happy hour(£5 instead of about £8). I nevertheless enjoyed my cocktail(the something Banker) which was a gin based drink beautifully garnished with lemon and rosemary. Now the parsnip soup was delicious that makes me think they could have made it from scratch directly upon our ordering it. 45 minutes seems about the right amount of time to cook up a soup and bake some fresh rolls and so if that is the case, bravo –keep up the good work. No but seriously the soup was really good — I just figure that it is probably already prepared so it should come out a little bit faster. Nice touch with the dish of melted butter though! Then came the duck. I have to say that while there were quite a few customers there to drink, the number of people actually dining was not enormous. So taking over an hour to prepare some duck seems unreasonable. Maybe they spent the time chasing the poor creature around out back and coaxing it into the oven? Also, I have to say I was disappointed by the tomato paste sauce that basically ruined what could have been a great dish paring duck with some delicious cooked greens(kale maybe?) The duck could also have been a little less cooked but this could be ignored with a good sauce. Beautiful presentation only goes so far. Now I must compliment them on being able to add a third order for our table so quickly upon request. A third member of our party arrived unexpectedly one hour after us and he was still able to eat at the same time. His drink orders were also quite speedy — but lager is fairly easy to pour. In terms of my other experiences here, the savory chicken with sticky rice is the best dish on the menu and is really good. The vegetarian sharer is also quite good as a starter. The skewers are a great idea but end up being a but over cooked /dried out. The squash risotto is not very rich/flavorful… The half lobster is also disappointing and feels like a 1⁄3 lobster — not worth it. Anyways I would like to say that I want to give this place more stars. It is a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere and high ceilings that gives it a kind of indoor yet outdoor feel. Improvements would be easy and are eagerly awaited.

Since this place opened a few months ago, I was pleased the opportunity arose to go here and have a few celebratory drinks for a friends birthday. As soon as I walked through the doors, the bar had a very grand and classy feel about it. The place was quiet(probably due to the snow) apart from a few people on the raised dining level above, and a large party of about twenty having drinks on a large table nearby which meant we got served straight away. There are an array of cocktails to choose from their menu, which is superb for a fan of cocktails like me. They are however not your average cocktails such as Woo woo or Tequila Sunrise but cocktails names such as Midlands Princess which is fruity and Explorers Cup which is rum based. The bar attender was knowledgeable about the drinks on the menu, and was able to recommend some cocktails to those who were not sure what to have. The bar has plenty of comfy places to sit such as large booth areas, and high armchairs. Unfortunately the«room behind the secret door» as its becoming known wasn’t open, however the bar attender was happy to lead the way and show us around. I won’t say anymore on here and spoil the surprise! All in all a great bar and restaurant which would be a perfect pit stop during a shopping trip, or during the week for a bite to eat. I will be returning at some stage to sample their food.
