This rough-​and-​ready pub is popular amongst locals and benefits from friendly staff and an excellent location, literally amongst the shops in the pedestrianized zone of Erdington High Street. Drinks are well priced and there’s plenty of space inside, so you’ll never be short of a seat, even when the pub’s at its busiest. However, the range of lagers on tap is very limited and the whole set-​up feels unclean and unpleasant.
Booths and seats inside are stained and smelly and there is no piped music whatsoever, which makes for an eerily silent, unappealing atmosphere, especially on weekends, when The Swan can get rowdy. I’d definitely recommend drinking elsewhere.
