We arrived to a warm reception from the host staff. We were seated and our coats were taken to the cloakroom. We were offered a drink, champagne of other drinks. We of course took the option of champagne. Slightly dry for my taste but very refreshing. We ordered a bottle of wine to go with our meals, the staff were able to explain the different types of wine. The bottle we chose was nice, medium bodied Then two pre-starters, both extremely tasty. Then onto our two starters, two main courses, the second of which contained three courses within itself, and then onto a pre-dessert before our official dessert. All of the food was extremely well prepared and wonderfully presented. The waiter staff did speak very good English but were difficult to understand. Mr Turner himself did present some of the main courses but did not present his food with very much enthusiasm. A private party arrived, by the look of things, Mr Turner knew them and spent a lot of his time with them, including giving them some complementary meals which seemed unfair to the other guests. The best experience of this meal was when the staff asked if we had any dietary requirements. I explained that I was lactose intolerant, allergic to caffeine and did not like any coffee or tea flavours. They made every effort and changed the way they cooked all of their foods to suit my needs. This was most impressive and very much appreciated. An example was the cooking of the beef with oil rather than the usual way with butter. Overall a very positive experience with some small annoying factors but overall I would recommend this restaurant to everybody wishing to have a good experience. The meal cost us £282 for two people, which included the 5 course meal, initial champagne, bottle of wine, bottle of water and a 12.5% service charge. Ensure that you have a lot of time for the visit. It took us 3.5 hours to complete the 5 course meal

I was taken to Turners as a birthday treat and it didn’t disappoint. The food was utterly beautiful with flavour combinations to die for. We went for the Simply Turners 4 course choosing the oyster, sea bass, grouse and cheese and teamed it with an Italian Malbec. In addition to what we ordered we were given we were given a trio of titbits to whet the appetite, which included Crockett of shrimp, donut with rabbit filling and mackerel, my personal favourite was the Shrimp, later between the sea bass and grouse we also had a selection of breads including an onion brioche roll(similar looking to a cinnamon roll), and to finish we had the prune soufflé and ice cream. The overall experience was lovely, although my only negative point was on arrival the drinks order was a little slow and at time sporadic, however that said the staff were nothing but helpful and informative. If you are looking for somewhere special to go for a birthday or anniversary I can highly recommended Turner as not only is the food wonderful and you are mostly to try things you never have before, the whole experience is something to remember.

Turners was the first Michelin star restaurant I had been to, and it has set the scene brilliantly– we’ve been back three times. It is elegant and quiet but also easy going and(I think) relatively unpretentious. The menu seems expensive but it’s a very good deal for the experience. We have dined here a la carte twice and have since also tried the three course lunch with accompanying flight of wines and also the Tuesday night Taste of Turners(if you’re on a budget do not confuse this with the tasting menu!) When we first came to Turners as a party of four we were enthralled by all the little touches that accompanied the dinner. Starting with interesting hors doeuvres and an amuse bouche before you get to the starter and main course. I’m not a huge pudding fan, but the pre dessert and desserts here are really lovely. Tartes tatin and gorgeous raspberry souffles have helped reignite a pudding appreciation. The a la carte menu doesn’t seem substantial as portions come chic and small, but due to the number of mini courses it does fill you up and we have had a struggle to make it through. If you’re not sure about this kind of dining, I’d suggest trying the Tuesday night or lunch deals, which do give you a taste of what’s on offer at a lower price(and reduces the likelihood of your being too full to get up). We’re still saving up for the tasting menu, I’ll update you when we make it!

I’m not sure my palette is designed for Michelin starred food because my visit to Turners was a bit of let down really. Myself and my Mom decided to treat ourselves after hearing such rave reviews of the place — also we’re big fans of Masterchef and reckoned we knew a thing or two about pea purée and sea bass foams. Our first impressions were good — we settled down with our horrendously expensive(but gorgeous) gin and tonics and were chuffed to be presented with an amuse bouche before getting stuck into the tasting menu. I’m afraid I was a bit put off by the colour and consistency of the amuse bouche — it looked exactly like a shot glass of melted butter but undeterred we got stuck in to our first course — which was fowl presented three ways. The presentation was lovely with the meat presented on a slate tile but again the flavours were so over powering I wasn’t sure if I liked the dish or not. Our main of lamb was lovely — no complaints there but the end course — an English cheeses platter was another disappointment — it was dead small. We finished our meal with coffees and I’m ashamed to admit a muffin from the nearest Greggs. I’d definitely recommend Turners if you fancy a treat but if, like me your idea of food heaven is a well cooked Pot Noodle then you may want to try somewhere else on the High Street.

I must say, my visit to Turners in Harborne was one of the best dining experiences in my entire life. My girlfriends parents celebrated their wedding anniversary there and I was more than willing to go along after hearing such wonderful reviews about the place. A Michelin star restaurant, Turners in Harborne offers a modern yet relaxed atmosphere, typical of such a highly regarded restaurant. Upon entering Turners, you are welcomed by a pleasant dining area that optimises elegance in what is most definitely a more mature environment. Once we’d been seated, the staff were more than helpful in assisting us with our order. We had a drink then were presented with our food, beautifully presented and no less than I expected. The food itself was immaculate, as I said previously, one of the best dining experiences of my life. The way it was presented was something I’ve never had the pleasure of witnessing before, but I just didn’t want the meal to end. Granted the portions are slightly smaller, but the quality did more than make up for it. Overall, Turners in Harborne has to be the stand out place to eat on the Harborne High Street, if a little expensive. Gladly, the bill was taken care of before I could even offer anything towards it, although I can safely say it set us back a fair bit. But the quality of food and service made it worthwhile. Perhaps best saved for special ocassions, but nonetheless, definitely worth a visit.

Probably the best valued Michelin Starred meal I’ve had to date, and I’ve done alot of eating out over the past yearmy stretchy pants are proof of that. We had such a lovely 3 course lunch at Turners of Harborne which included an assortment of amouse bouche, pre desserts and matching wines all for just £35! The creamed celeriac with hazelnut foam pre starter, and the seabass and gnocchi topped with shaved white truffle mains, were both perfectly executed and totally moreish. My dining companions and I ordered differently for each course, and were pleasantly surprised by the calibre of all the dishes served in this intimate restaurant set amongst the high street of Harbourne. Service was exceptional, and our Spanish waiters knowledge on their cheese offerings incredible! Put Turners on your list if you are ever in the Birmingham area. I love going to Turners in harborne as it is one of the best lunchtime restaurants in Birmingham. It is located on the main Harborne High St and has both indoor and outdoor dining depending on the weather. I would definitely recommend visiting Turners for Sunday Lunch as you can get a fantastic meal for a reasonable price and you certainly wont need dinner afterwards! They have an extensive menu for both lunch and dinner, ranging from pastas to grills to sandwiches. The staff are really lovely and helpful and the atmosphere is intimate and welcoming. Note that it is closed every Monday.

A refreshingly good place in Brum. Not that far out from the centre, and worth the trip. Staff are friendly and will warm to you when you show interest in the food. A quality wine list, organised by grape, and done by someone who knows the good areas for modern wine, with reasonable pricing. Actually, I’d say this chef is outstanding in every respect. Went yet again, this time for dinner, and every dish was notable and brilliantly executed, The prune in Armagnac suffle was just brilliant beautifully judged with exactly the right enhancement from the spirit without the harshness. Actually a Brum must do.
