Up & Running

I find many running shops to be understaffed so you don’t get the specialist treatment that the shops advertise. This isn’t the case here — Adam, the shop manager, spent nearly an hour with me which has resulted in me finding out that I’m actually a neutral runner — very obvious when they played me back my video. I had been having knee trouble before which now could be explained by the shoes I was recommended at another running shop.
Adam also called the following day to update me on when I could expect the trainers he’d ordered me to be in (wide New Balances for my WIDE feet)…and also saying that he’d call me when they arrive so as not to worry that I’d get forgotten.
Previous running shops never told me that New Balance were particularly good for wide foot widths (including 2E and 4E).
Great stock, competitive prices and most importantly fabulous and very friendly advice never felt I was a hassle.
I have been meaning to sign up to Qype for a while. the service I got at Up and Running in Birmingham yesterday is the reason I’ve eventually got around to it!

p. s. there’s also a very good looking ‘proper’ bike shop downstairs (Evans) so will allocate more time when go back to buy my trainers to have a look there :)
