I remember the bad old days of having no choice when it came to trains… One price, one train an hour which was packed(no option to reserve), dirty and smelly. Most of all, slow. Now, we live in an age(especially in Birmingham) where we have 3 choices of trains! Huzzah! Virgin trains run from Birmingham New Street, and(depending on where you are going) are pretty regular. If you book online, you can reserve a seat. Unfortunately, this is not always a perfect system and seats can sometimes be double(occasionally triple) booked(which is a huge pain). The trains are fairly clean, but if you are sitting near the toilets you can sometimes be assailed with the disgusting«Eau De Train Toilet»(a special smell unique to toilets on Public Transport). If you can, get a table seat. You get loads more leg room and a power point(perfect for doing work on the train). And… Shhhhh… Keep this quiet… but if you sit in a coach next to 1st Class, you can get on their WiFi for free. In First Class you get complimentary tea, coffee and food(at selected times of day). In Standard, there is a shop and a trolley service — so if you are desperate for a coffee(or a beer) the option is there.

Virgin Trains have done a lot to improve speed and service on the West Coast Mainline. Trains should be reserved in advance as they are by far the most expensive walk on option. Peak hour trains are really for business customers or if you can claim back your expenses! :) On the plus side, their Pendolinos and Super Voyagers are quick, comfortable and have a shop for buying stuff(miss trolley service as well though!). Marks down for their inability to provide free wifi in all classes(currently free only to first class customers). Otherwise customer service on board is good and I hope that they continue to serve the West Coast mainline for years to come.

I love love love Virgin as a company as it’s very well looked after, very well presented and treats their customers with high regard. As a train service, I wouldn’t want to travel with any other company unless I had to. I adore travelling by trains as it is and Virgin Trains makes the experience of travelling by trains even better! The smooth running wheels along the tracks compliments the time duration of your journeys as Virgin Trains provide a fast and efficient way of travel in order for you to having nothing to worry about apart from kicking back and relaxing while Virgin takes you to your destination. I would say that the only downside of travelling with Virgin Trains is how expensive they are especially during peak times and busy times during the year. You can be looking at up to eighty pounds a ticket!

If your expecting super gorgeous ladies primped with that sexy red«I wanna f**k ya» suit, forgettaboutit. All you’ll get is frequent delays and changes in schedules that will piss you off, or maybe you’ll take the piss outta Virgin. I recommend just pissing on the train to give it that urban smell. And if you decide to ride this loose cougar, make sure you pre-book well in advance.
