Yelpovision

Ahhh Eurovision. That one time of year where politics are set to one side (until the voting) and Europe lets out it’s inner crazy. There’s no way to enjoy it better than with a bunch of friends gathered round with food and a few drinks. Until now!
All the elements were there but multiplied as we gathered at the penthouse apartment in the iconic rotunda on the 20^th floor to watch the first semi final surrounded by incredible views of our fair city.
We had people dressed for the occasion; Dave M as an Austrian nun stole the show! There was Eurovision bingo, drinks flowing and some incredible food supplied by local purveyors of perfect pizza Bare Bones who supplied us with 30 beautiful pizzas so we could dine in style.
It was a great chance to get together and catch up with the elites and to meet a few new faces who I hope we see more of.
Many thanks to Vicky O for another event that was truly top narnas. To Gavin and the guys at staying cool for providing an incredible space for our party. And of course to Mike at Bare Bones Pizza for filling our stomachs with some delicious dinner.

Up on the 20^th floor I felt like the Queen of Birmingham haha. The balcony is huge and you could well hold a party just out there!
Drinks flowed, songs were sung, merriment had and dressing up was done. All in Staying Cool style!

What a Brilliant event at the Rotunda! If you’ve not yet visited, book, and be seen!
I’ve not visited the Rotunda before, and was very surprised at the views to be had from the Penthouse. They are stunning, and don’t disappoint — especially as the sun goes down. An ideal place for booking a party, or, even for that something special. ‘Staying Cool’ really have a leading Birmingham venue here.
We had a fantastic night of drink, chat, & even Free grub from Bare Bones Pizza.
The food didn’t disappoint. Entertainment at the courtesy of Eurovision, & it was an enjoyable evening to meet a few new Unilocalers. Looking forward to the next one, & well done Vicky! :)

I only started watching Eurovision a few years ago and I’m growing to love it more and more each year, so when Vicky O. said she putting on a Unilocalovision event, I couldn’t wait! After making my way up all 20 floors (though in the lift) to the flat at the top of the Rotunda, I was ready to watch. However, I was slightly distracted by the amazing views from this location, you can see all of Birmingham and beyond! I’m still scared of heights but that’s ok because inside the flat I feel perfectly safe. It’s a great place and is perfect for a party. We even had a massive telly where we could all watch the event so thank you so much Staying Cool!
We played Eurovision Bingo and scored each round. Even though I didn’t win it was still great fun coming up with ideas for the Bingo and seeing who thought which act was the best (and worst!). As ever, Vicky O. supplied an amazing range of drinks and I helped myself to the wine of course! The biscuits and chocolates where nice though quickly forgotten about when the pizza arrived. I’ve never seen so much pizza before! I couldn’t believe we each were going to have a Barebones Pizza to ourselves, it was perfect. I managed to grab a steak one and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked, fresh and still hot!
It was a great night and brilliant to watch an iconic event with great people, in a great location with brilliant food! As always, Vicky’s nights are wonderful and I can’t wait for the next one!

Another great event, this time held in an apartment at the top floor of Birmingham’s iconic rotunda building. I was excited and felt privileged to be given the opportunity to see Birmingham from the top of the rotunda; a building I’ve know (formally as the ‘Coca-​Cola Tower’) since my childhood, but never been inside before.
The apartment was one of Staying Cool’s apartments in the building and provided for them for the event. The penthouses normally cost £299 per night (£400 on weekends!), so thanks must go to them.
As an event, it felt like a house party at a rich friend’s house. People were relaxing, checking out the view from the balcony and helping themselves to sweets, and booze from the fridge. So after an initial feeling of «who’s place is this? are we intruding in their private space?», I think everyone felt comfortable and at ease.
It was a nice break from the activities of some Unilocal events in that we weren’t split into smaller groups, or busy doing something like mixing cocktails (not that there’s anything wrong with that!), allowing people to natter and mingle at will. As I say, nothing wrong with the other format, it’s just nice to mix things up.
A whopping 30(!) pizzas were provided by the great guys at Bare Bones Pizza, who were parked outside Selfridges for the Daytime Dinning Festival.
The night flew by quickly and I’m already looking forward to the next event.

Awww yea — you know where it’s at, and it’s usually where Vicky’s organised an event and the food or drink is laid on!
Another amazing and sociable night chatting to the lovely people of Unilocal,surrounded by the majestic views of Birmingham (if you can get that close to the balcony rail without feeling like you’re going to be sucked off, and not in a good way — am I allowed to write that?) and stuffing your face with what should probably be described as the best pizza I’ve had delivered to me in a box.
Besides being a little confused as to how to find this majestical place the whole night went without a hitch and much merriment ensued.
Hurrah for Vicky!

This was my first visit to the luxury serviced apartments at the rotunda organised by staying cool. I was really impressed, they are incredibly smart and modern! As we were in the penthouse, at first the view was a bit dizzying but once you got used to it it was magical to look at, especially as it got darker and you could see all the lights of Birmingham. The prices weren’t too bad either they started at £99 a night for a studio but a better rate if you wanted to book them for longer term. So a great short term let opportunity if your in between moving houses or something, or visiting Birmingham for a week or so, as there aren’t many reasonably prices short term let’s available.
The pizza was provided by bare bones pizza and we managed to have a whole pizza each! Wow! I had a margarita which was lovely you could taste how fresh they were and the base wasn’t too hard.
The Eurovision was great, there was a really great atmosphere and it was lovely to catch up with everyone in a chilled out environment.
And I got Unilocal mug whoo! Well chuffed with that hehe

Eurovision + anchovie pizza = Another awesome Unilocal Night
So happy that Vicky put on Unilocalovision as I will be missing the main event. Really enjoyed revisiting the Rutunda and the amazing view when it was brighter then when we were here before. 30 of us fitted well in the appartment and it was the perfect venue for watching the euro fun.
I loved the Bare Bones Pizza and was seriously impressed with how they had 30 pizza ready for us to go and all were delicious! What I loved the most is their anchovie pizza, the slices I had an amazing taste, the fillets packed alot of flavour. The chilli sauce that come with it was really well balanced between heat and flavour and went well with any of the pizzas.

What better place to celebrate one of (mostly) Europe’s oddest and most glittering traditions than from the penthouse of the Rotunda courtesy again of those super folks at Staying Cool? The views for the evening during sunset were pretty special.
And thanks to Barebones Pizza for feeding us with top notch pizzas, I think the photos speak for themselves (and if they don’t, go and buy a barebones pizza when you see them cause they are top notch).

The ingredients: Birmingham’s best View! Street food pizza! A big tv and lots of sugar and wine. Oh and a whole bunch of fun people!
I turned up early. It’s early or late. I don’t do arriving ON time!
Our Hosts were Staying Cool and this is the 4^th event that I’ve been to there! Such a friendly team who want everyone to have a great stay in the Rotunda!
Birmingham Unilocal community leader Vicky O is great at keeping order and the huge effort she puts in shines at every single event!
Thanks to everyone who turned up and behaved while the singing was happening! LOVED IT!!!

Birmingham is a brilliant city, the Rotunda is an iconic building so to be invited to a Eurovision party in the beautiful setting of the staying cool apartments was a treat to behold.
Lots of fun, Eurovision bingo, drinks, pizzas from bare bones pizza, breathtaking views of the city and beyond, a great evening to be sure and to top off all that, Eurovision Song Contest semi finals, the cheesiest of all shows. Come on, what’s not to love?
Yet again another sterling effort from our hostess with the mostess Victoria who organised a fun evening that I will remember for a long long time. An evening of top notch entertainment, some fab freebies courtesy of Unilocal and a great chance to see familiar faces and some new ones too.
It’s evenings like this that I’m so glad I found Unilocal and all the awesome Unilocalers, they sure know how to party in style.

Fantastic night! Another selection of things I love wrapped up into a Unilocal event– this time Eurovision, flat parties and pizza!
We were lucky to have the penthouse at Staying Cool at the Rotunda again. The views are amazing and the flat is seriously stylish.
We tucked into some sweeties while waiting for the Eurovision semi-​final to begin and for our pizzas to arrive.
Barebones pizza kindly provided us with a pizza each. I enjoyed a chicken and mushroom pizza with a bit of Pip’s Hot Sauce on the side. The base and cheese were beautiful with a generous amount of toppings.
Then it was onto the semi-​final which we enjoyed with some cider, our pizza and more sweeties. There was also a fancy dress competition and the opportunity to partake in Eurovision bingo!
A really fun night and the BEST goody bag ever. Amazing location, amazing pizza, fantastic company with some new faces to boot. Thanks Vicky!

The Eurovision Song Contest — an opportunity for a variety of people to gather together and celebrate diversity through songs and entertainment! Well we certainly did that with Unilocalovision too! When you get so many awesome people together in a luxury apartment, courtesy of Staying Cool Apartments (@staying_cool), you just know the party will be fabulous! In true Eurovision style we celebrated what Birmingham had to offer… amazing venue, great selection of beers, ciders and wine and then a delicious baked pizza from the fantastic guys at Barewood Pizza (@barewoodpizza)! Now this is a pizza to enjoy! How the guys box your pizza party from the back of their modified van is incredible — street food at its very best! Seriously check them out and indulge in the pizzaerific offers!
Now Unilocalovision would not have been one of Vickys awesome events without the obligatory goodies and amazing games to play as well. When you think of Eurovision costumes, what springs to mind? Sparkles, Shiny things, Easily removed clothes? Well with the Unilocal Team, think again! The most incredible selection of Eurovision costumes added to the astounding atmosphere and really got the party into a swing!
If you don’t travel around Europe for the contest then Birmingham is the place to have fun, party away and celebrate everything thats good about Eurovision! Only with the Unilocal team of course — nothing can beat a Unilocalovision party!

Fabulous Elite event organised by the legendary Vicki O. Held at Stay Cool apartments in the Rotunda, this 20^th floor luxury penthouse was perfect for Unilocalovision and for housing a large number of Unilocalers. A beautiful view of Birmingham city. A chilled out and enjoyable evening had watching the Eurovision song contest, eating a whole delicious, mouth watering pizza each, provided by Barebones pizza, and chatting with Unilocalers. Wine, beer, soft drinks and cider was provided to keep us well lubricated. Bare bones pizza is a mobile caterer that serves
delicious rustic wood fired pizza and caters for vegetarians too. Prizes were won playing bingo and by the best fancy dressed Unilocaler. Great to meet some new elites and great to be part of Unilocal

Wow another brilliant event at the awesome stay cool apartments:) I love Eurovision, so was really pleased Vicky chose this as our latest event. Awesome pizza was provided by Bare Bones pizza-​lovely thin light bases with a mix of tasty toppings:) There was plenty of wine, beer and cider flowing too:)
I love how Unilocalers really enter into the spirit of things –loads of brilliant costumes (and prizes to be won ofcourse). Really good evening:)

I could not have been more excited to come to this event. I’ve been an avid fan of eurovision for years and finally found the event to celebrate it!
Food and drink was plentiful and well done to those who successfully managed to represent a country in their costumes rather than my failed effort to come as a glam eurovsion host! Great to see new faces to chat to and the Stay Cool penthouse we were in for the night was just gorgeous with a view across the city to rival the new library!
