Not my favourite cuisine. The Rogan Josh and Chicken Balti were equally as sloppy and the smell was deceiving. The Cottage smells lovely and when passing you feel the urge to enter. The taste factor had a lot to live up to with some of the best Indian restaurants situated near-by. The Yew Tree Cottage I personally think specialises in a good Jalfrezi dish. I was unimpressed with the food, and the service was second to none but it was little consolation after I consumed the Balti uneasily. I tried my friend’s Jalfrezi and if you are to go here then that’s your best bet.

For a restaurant which has clearly had a good deal of money spent on it to make it an inviting and stylish venue, the food here was seriously disappointing. While I ordered my usual unadverturous chicken korma and my boyfriend the more spicy rogan josh, both dishes looked identical and were unidentifiable by flavour how a curry can be bland escapes me, but there were two examples. The almonds in the Peshwari naan bread were the only discernable flavours around. No excuse for a bad curry in Birmingham shan’t be visiting again!
