Rhode Island Coffee

Have seen it as we pass on the bus and always forget to stop in. Not today! After spending ages at the Post Office, I thought I would treat myself before heading back to the apartment. It was busy, but didn’t feel crowded and most importantly, it was quiet… well minus the hissing of the espresso machine, but that is a welcomed noise.
They have a lovely display of baked goods… so lovely that I decided to add a little sweet treat to my order… the White Chocolate Caramel Shortbread. The staff were very friendly and were very efficient as well. I decided to go with the Cinnamon Latte with Soy Milk as there are not very many places that do Cinnamon flavor. I didn’t wait very long and when my order was ready, they did point out the sugar and other items if I needed them.
Unfortunately the Cinnamon Latte was very light… very light on cinnamon flavour, but if I were just evaluating this based on it being a Latte with Soy Milk, it was quite nice. Didn’t taste burnt like Starbucks! The real star of the show was my White Chocolate Caramel Shortbread. It was delicious and yes, a bit rich, but not nearly as rich as when it is done with Milk Chocolate. To be honest, I think it is the perfect combination and a wonderful treat on a chilly, grey afternoon. I think this is going to be a regular stop on my visits to the town centre!

I’m something of a coffee fiend, so it has to be really good coffee to float my boat. The central Bolton branch, despite being a franchise, doesn’t feel like ‘cloney’ at all. It has a cosy, homely feel and the customer service is unsurpassed. And it has free wifi — what’s not to like? Rosi makes the perfect Americano, John makes the most awesome cappuccino and the remaining team also totally rock! X

I’ve used Rhode Island almost exclusively to get all my hot drinks whilst out and about in Bolton.
The staff are always friendly and recognise your face (and often remember your name).
They have a good selection of both food and drinks at standard market prices.
A good place to go.

I think it’s fairly hard to get a coffee wrong and Rhode Island coffee are far from wrong. Great coffee, cheap and the staff are polite and cheerful. Deal on the sandwiches was good, only reason it’s not 5 stars was the fact I didn’t enjoy my choice of sandwich. So its my fault really.
