This is a dual fronted shop as it hosts both Hallmark cards and Thornton’s chocolates and unfortunately my opinion is as divided as the shop itself! This shop is easily accessible and centrally located to the ‘hub’ of shops in Farnworth. Although quite small it still manages to have both brands inside. Now Thorntons doesn’t need a lot saying really, if you like chocolate you will most likely love Thornton’s, quality chocolate and on the high end of affordable. however bare in mind stock and range is limited in this branch due to size. Now onto the Hallmark sections. Obviously it’s predominantly cards(with the range also being limited due to size of the premises) Now i’ll admit it, they’re nice cards. However, call me a cynic or a scrooge but at the end of the day it is just cards and I do think the prices are atrocious as they’re not one of a kind, often not hand made and you really are just paying for the ‘Name’, whatever happened to ‘It’s the thought that counts?’ surely I don’t need to spend £+‘s to get whatever greeting it is I need to express across? It’s handy if you’re running short in time and need a card and gift pronto, but the place is quite cramped so not somewhere you’d really want to hang around to browse. All in all it’s a nice place, well maintained with pleasant staff.
