I have never been to Toys ‘R’ Us before. My first problem with it is that I don’t know how to do a backwards ‘R’ on the computer. I went in searching for a small toy to give to a new-born relative. Upon entering, I couldn’t believe how scary and overwhelming this place is! True, if you’re a kid, this place is a flashing, brightly-coloured, magical dream. But for a normal adult, it’s almost a bit too much. There are toys from floor to ceiling everywhere you look, massive models of famous Disney characters and huge Lego models. Wow. So many toys though. This place really does what it says on the tin.

Toys R Us is(or was when I was a kid, at least) the biggest toystore chain in the UK. It’s got everything you could want from a mainstream toy shop. Bikes, computers, video games, sporting equipment, action figures, board games, books, lego, and so on, besides millions of other things. This branch is fairly large, and it is situated in a small retail park, which is easily accessable if you’re in a vehicle however it is a fair distance from the main shopping areas of Bolton and therefore I wouldn’t walk it. The range and stock is routinely superb. The staff always strike me as bored and like they’d rather be somewhere else. In general, it’s a great place to buy some toys, for yourself or a young relative. Or to just browse around and reminisce

A large toy store on Bolton’s Trinity Retail Park. Generally this isn’t a bad place: its range of stock is generally very good and you can generally find inspiration for friends’ birthday presents wandering up and down the aisles. However, we’ve docked one star because they had hardly any Duplo in stock after Christmas — and there were lots of empty shelves too. When challenged about it, a shop assistant told us that they wouldn’t be getting any more stock in till the end of the month(January 2009) — hardly helpful when your younger son’s birthday is a few days away! But overall it’s not a bad shop, and I daresay we’ll be back before too long.

Very good store and very big. Good place for kids christmas presents as the prices aren’t too high. The staff will help look for what you want if you can’t find it. They sell toys, baby stuff, bikes, electricals, garden toys, board games, musical instruments. All good but about 30% of things i buy from there seem to break easily and always end up sending them back, but there’s no problems trying to get a refund. A good piece of advice– don’t take the kids!

This toys r us is huge and has a wide range of different toys for all ages. there is a babies r us section where i got most of my sons baby stuff from and they have been great quality. There is loads of different choice for a childrens party too. If you toy isnt in stock they will reserve it for you and ring you up when it comes into store.

I’ve been to many branches of Toys ‘r’ us over the years from when i was a child up until now i’m a parent. the Bolton store is neither fantastic nor poor, it’s best described as decent. the stock levels are good, the layout is fairly user friendly and the staff are approachable once you manage to chase one and pin them down long enough to ask them something! The store is a nice decent size, not too big to be overwhelming but large enough to have a lot of stock without being cramped. the only downside is if you phone them, they have a very strange holding system that either cuts you off or plunges you into unknown depths of silence for an indeterminable amount of time!
