Never had a bad experience here. Often wonder there on a weekend, and today was no exception. The food is spot on and it’s lovely to sit inspire in front of a roaring fire. The kids love it too, with kids portions being easily big enough for our hungry young teens.

Great food in a classic, old fashioned pub. Thatched roof and roaring fireplace makes this quaint pub a lovely evening out. The food isn’t just pub fare though it’s delicious! Highly recommend the scallop risotto!

I like this place, its great to goto after a long dog walk andgreat for sunday lunch. and though it is not privately owned the standard is usually very good. However took the rellies out on mothers day boasting of its quality and the food on everyones plate had a problem so now they wont return. I have and it has provided good pub food and they email me with offers

Don’t let the run down exterior of the place mislead you to the nice interior décor. The pub is just off the Thames path but a worthy stop for a quick drink which is all I had time for. Would love to give a more detailed review for the catering for next time as it was the kind of place one would like to come back to as the staff seemed welcoming.

I was very impressed with this restaurant/​pub. The new décor is very cosy with small rooms — rather than one large eating area. The food was excellent and at such good value. It does get very busy at the weekends so a great place to visit midweek and in the summer you can stroll down to the river and go for a long walk after lunch!

This is the kind of pub you go to on a sunday afternoon for a bit of lunch. Theres quite a few nice things on the menu. The scallops are very nice. I ordered the rare beef salad as a main. It was OK, but the beef wasnt rare and it looked like it was left overs from a day or two before. Other than that the salad was nice. It can get quite busy so if you are a large party you will need to book. Plently of parking around the back. Its a bit expensive for what you get though.
