I feel sorry for those of you who love this food and please don’t call it Indian. This type of food in India is only eaten by very lower gendry people like riksha pullers, etc. No middle class or above person will touch this food even. They will go to Mac instead which is far hygienic in my view. Indian food is not about oil & colour. It’s about herbs, flavour & taste. I know, it is always busy because of it’s brilliant location(in close proximity to 100s of offices and 2 big hotels) on top of it location is Saldey Broke(I mean bradley stoke) where there is no restaurant where you can sit and eat(I am excluding great pubs in this area :-)). But, my feedback is not regarding it’s location, it would get 5 star for it’s location as there is NO other restaurant near by :-). My feedback is for quality of food, the taste of particular dishes served there. For example, As I know real taste of Tandoori Chicken I would easily know how good roast is done there and it’s still ridiculous for me there.

Wow their food is amazing! The customer service is so good, they are always so friendly and welcome you to the door straight away with a friendly smile. The food is fresh and so full of flavor. There is also a wide variety of food Mild, Medium and Hot. The prices are reasonable, and it may be difficult to find but its worth it when you do! A word of advice, if your only a korma lover which me and my mum are because we don’t like anything to hot, try the butter chicken, amazing! The best food i’ve ever had by a mile.

We like the Saffron. Been there several times and also had takeaways. The staff are always attentive, friendly and happy to help. The food in the restaurant has always been good. Sadly we have been let down on a couple of takeaways but over 10 years that’s not a bad ratio for a VERY busy and extremely popular place. Give it a go. I am sure you will like it.

SAFFRONINDIANRESTAURANTBRADLEYSTOKE Hi everyone My wife and I found this little gem not long after it opened about 8 years ago and we have been dining there weekly ever since and enjoy its large and varied menu. Saffron is situated in a Business Park in Bradley Stoke and therefore doesn’t get any passing trade, so it relies on its reputation passed on by word of mouth and as a result the restaurant is always very busy with many of its customers regulars like ourselves also several of the local businesses in the area book the restaurant for their staff and have done so once per month for the last few years. Over the years we have tried many of the dishes on the menu and we have never been disappointed in fact out of all the Indian Restaurants in the area we find Saffron to be the best not only is the food consistently good the owner Abul and his staff always give you a very warm welcome and look after you well. The restaurant is in a converted barn which gives it a good atmosphere and is always very clean and well presented as are the staff. We visit Saffron on different days of the week and as a result we see many of their other regulars. The restaurant also seems to do a good trade in takeaways with people coming and going with their meals(this sometimes includes ourselves) and therefore we believe this is recommendation in itself. During our visits to Saffron we have had many chats to the owner Abul who tells us that there are approximately 12,000 Indian Restaurants(Indian being a generic term) in the UK also that Saffron is part of the biggest chain in Bristol. Although we have tried many Indian Restaurants in Bristol and around Britain we would always recommend Saffron to anyone looking for good Indian cuisine in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Hi All, I am an Indian and love Indian cuisine. I heard a lot from my British friends about the food served in Saffron and I went to try some. To my surprise, The food there no where matches the Indian Food. To start with the food served there is unhygienic to the core. You must be wandering why? Let me tell you: a) They put lots and lots of artificial/synthetic colors in the food, Which certainly appeals to eyes as gorgeous tempting dishes but is unhealthy to the core. b) If you take a delivery of any curry from saffron and try compare it with the curry of any other Indian restaurant closely or in city center you will note astonishing facts. You all must be thinking what are those? Put both of the curries in a transparent glass and you will notice that the glass with saffron curry will have at least twice as much oil as from any other restaurants(Mind it: There is only 1 authentic Indian restaurant in Bristol, rest all are typical Bangladeshi ones which try to imitate Indian food). So, I didn’t compare apple with Oranges. The comparison is with 1 Bangladeshi restaurant(Saffron) with others in the city. Having said that, now you have combination of lots of art/syn colors with lot’s of oil/ghee, the composites of which makes things far worse. But yea, lots of oil on top of meat, rice, etc brings the taste generally people look for from the food. 1 more test to this would be: Try spilling that gravy on any of your wooden cabinet/table in the kitchen and then try to clean it. What ever cleaning product you will use, it will not go easily. It really really takes lots of scrubbing and patience to clean that composite. Can you think, what effect does it put on your stomach ? The funny dishes names like pillao rice, bahar chicken, madhuri chicken, Bangal machli, rezala lamb, bondon chicken, pran chicken, malaya chicken, badhonia chicken, dansak chicken are very unsual for Indian food you wont find these dishes any where commanly in India. I don’t know about any other neibouring country, but you won’t find this in regular food from India. So, I am wandering why this food is termed as Indian food??? I have written this review as I didn’t find any review from an Indian food lover on any of the blogs. These are my personal feelings and not an advertisement of any other restuarant in Bristol. Hope it will benefit Bristoliets. Best regards, Aman

This is my local Indian. It doesn’t deliver but it’s worth picking the food up as the food quality is much better than any of the others in the area, and the prices are decent, though it’s certainly not the cheapest. It’s hard to find if you’ve never been before(best check on a map first) and sometimes service is a little slow, but it’s worth attending the strange little barn in the middle of a business park. A nice little oddity.
