Sylhet Tandoori Express

One of the things I miss most about living in London is Sylhet Tandoori.
My friends and I reminisce about evenings gone by, waiting for the prompt Sylhet Tandoori delivery man to ring our doorbell, with bags full of hot naan, scrumptuous onion bhaji and the tastiest curries west of Mumbai.
My favorites are the butter chicken, the chicken tikka masala and the chana masala. I also love their karahi dishes, for that added curry kick.
Onion bhaji is rare here in the Bay Area, and of all the bhajis I’ve had, Sylhet’s is the best. Fried but not (too) oily… crispy, salty… PERFECT!
The mixed pickle and mint chutney delight. Seriously. They go great on the papadum and the bhaji.
We always had complicated orders and they never — not once — messed up. They were always quick and the food was consistant and CHEAP.
Now, whenever I’m in London visiting my sister, we order Sylhet. It’s not a trip to the UK without some Sylhet delivery!
My sister and her family continue to order from Sylhet on a weekly basis and I’m jealous that I can’t!
