The Connoisseur restaurant on Harrow on the Hill, is most definitely a restaurant for real Indian food connoisseurs. The best qualities that define how this restaurant is superior to most others in the local area are: 1. The food is extremely homely in style 2. None of their dishes come floating in oil 3. The spices are subtle, light and perfectly balanced 4. The fragrance of each dish is distinctive and never over powering. We’ve visited this restaurant many times but tonight we decided to order some food for delivery. Their minimum order for delivery is £20 and they’ll go anywhere within a four mile radius. Tonight we ordered botti kebabs(lamb), naan roti, fish tilwali for starters. The botti kebab was lightly spiced and cooked well. The lamb was soft and tasty. We loved the naan roti as it was very soft and fluffy, just perfect. You’ll be hard pressed to find naan this good in ANY Indian restaurant in the whole of London. For main couse we ordered a simple chicken biriyani, which came with raita and a side salad. The biriyani was amazing! The rice was top quality and very fragrant, and the spices were perfectly balanced. They included generous portions of chicken in the biriyani. The raita too, was perfectly spiced and refreshing. If you’re looking to visit or order delivery from a North Indian restaurant that cooks up a real authentic treat, that makes food that’s homely and brought to your table or home in a professional and prompt manner, then this restaurant is for you. This is no ordinary curry house, it’s a breed apart. The food you get at this restaurant is what you’d get at a five star restaurant in India and it’s of excellent quality — that, and it’s a fraction of the cost of a five star restaurant.

This northern Indian restaurant on Harrow on the Hill was quite the surprise. After visiting a few different restaurants on the hill I was always disappointed so was very apprehensive about going. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Sunday evening-though it was raining outside. The inside is bright, clean and quite modern. The staff were faultless and offered extremely good customer service. The menu also had a great variety– I went for the peshawari Gosht Champen, which was lamp chops cooked in different spices, the menu said cooked medium rare but when it arrived it wasn’t– I think more to the fact that I didn’t specify this when ordering but it was still pretty damn good! I also got the tarka dhal which was very nice, not liquidy and oily like in most places. The portions were perfect sizes so you were left feeling nicely full and not sick after the meal. The prices are also quite cheap. I would definitely recommend this to friends and can’t wait to go back, the food was very tasty, the staff were great and the restaurant looked good, definitely the best curry I’ve had in the harrow/Eastcote area
