New Garden

The small shop front hides a large eating area that goes a long way back. The staff were friendly and for a Tuesday night it was busy. The menu had all the usual offerings and I didn’t find anything to set it apart. I had ribs, Kung po pork, sweet & sour chicken and rice with a beer for £22, not bad. All in all very average but worth another visit.

Have eaten here on many an occasion, I adore the food, the people and the décor. I had my 18^th birthday here too, and they bent over backwards to make sure that we had a brilliant time

Just had a very upsetting experience at this restraint very arrogant staff with no idea how to treat customers. Stay clear is my advice

live music from the grand overlooking the fish pond, tasty and fresh food, an excellent wine list, good tea… a wonderful, busy place that I love to come to from time to time.

The New Garden in Aberkenfig is a really lovely restaurant. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and are happy to offer you a sort of ‘ten pound a head’ type meal, if there is a larger group of you. You can also request certain dishes that you would like within your selection, and then everyone can share the dishes placed on the tables which have large rotating rings, so that everyone can reach the food that they want. The prices are very reasonable, and you can also order from the menu individual if you feel that is better than everyone sharing. :)

This Chinese Restaurant really is the best in the area — people really make the effort to go to Aberkenfig — not the obvious choice for eating out — in order to have their parties and celebrations here. There are always big tables and groups, and you can expect the pianist to strike up happy birthday at least a few times on the average night.
Massive menu — the set meals are excellent — and they help you taste something different without having to sacrifice having a bit of your favourite dish. The lettuce rolls are my favourite!
This is a large restaurant — there is even a river running through it (a bit dated but dont let that put you off). Staff are very friendly — they have gone the extra mile for us on more than one occassion.
If you mention it is your birthday you not only get happy birthday played for you but there is free chocolate cake with sparklers!

Not my favourite Chinese restaurant, but the service is fast and there really good at handling big groups of people, really good venue for a big birthday bash or an office party meal, but that means it’s usually full of big tables full of noisy drunk people so not very appealing when you just want a quiet meal. The usual Chinese cuisine with a nice bar area at the front so you can chill for 10 minuets if your friends are late. It’s pretty expensive for what you get, and when you compare it to all the other Chinese restaurants in that area nothing really stands out that would make you want to return eagerly.
