A fantastic interior and hundreds upon hundreds of different beers. Many of the beers are locally sourced and the guys running the place really know their stuff. There are a few beers available on tap. The idea is that you buy a «growler»(a one or 1.5 litre bottle). They fill it up using a device which pushes the beer into the bottle by some cunning vacuum technique, you go home and drink the beer. Then rinse and repeat.

The Bison Beer shop had a very bright and inviting feel to it and on either side were rows and rows of bottled beers and obscure ales. They’ve got so many you could have a different one each day of the year. At the end of the shop closest to the front door they had a very welcoming bench, made, we were told with reclaimed timber from Brighton Pier. On the black board at the back were bright yellow messages and illustrations in their signature style. We glugged back the Bison’s Beast Street ipa and to me it had an elderflower taste(that’s a new one on them). Great little shop with a huge selection of craft beers and a massive crowdfunding campaign. They hope to raise funds to turn an abandoned listed building into an independent pub.

A great shop selling a huge selection of beer. I particularly enjoyed their own brand ale and the store owners are fantastic. I really liked their passion and knowledge. They aren’t just passionate about beer, but also about keeping things as local as possible. A lot of the store has been kitted out with items from Brighton and decorated by Sussex artists. Well worth a visit for any beer enthusiast.
