50 different ways to eat muscles and over 100 different types of delicious Belgian beers. A bit pricey, but well worth the treat. I could eat here all the time.

How great it is to eat in a restaurant surrounded by pictures of tin tin !! This restaurant does the best ‘moules frites’ you can get in Brighton — so good that you can almost imagine that you are in Belgium ! Great location right in the heard of town and opposite the sea front. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. If you have got room at the end their ice cream is lovely too !

This really is a case of not judging a book by it’s cover. The restaruant itself looks drab from the front — but inside it’s warm and bustling. The food is absolutely lovely. I’ve been on a couple of large group outings there and they have managed to get it spot on each time. Prices are reasonable and great value.

As Café Belge, this was one of my favourite restaurants in Brighton. Eating mussels & chips while surrounded by pictures of Tin Tin — I mean; what’s not to like? Since changing to the Belgian Café — and since the Umi hotel has sprung up around it, it seems that they’re struggling a little more than they used to. The last time I went, they’d run out of chips(run out of chips???) and the mussels weren’t quite as flavourful as they had been previously. I’ve got everything crossed that the folks at The Belgian Café make a comeback, and I’ll be heading back soon(ish) to find out

This place claims to use love when making their fresh food! It is one of a chain of award winning restaurants. Others are in Canterbury, Battle, Bexhill, Eastbourne and West Malling. The menu has 50 ways to eat mussels! And don’t forget to try the Toblerone fondue! They encourage reservations. But the best thing about the café Belge experience is the 90 Belgian beers.
