Evans Cycles

Evans cycles is a great bike shop in heart of Brighton, by the Churchil square.
They sell pretty much very good, brand new road bikes (obviously, at their own price) like specialized, trekk, bianch, etc (haven’t explored other types too much, as wasnt too relevant, sorry!).
Staff is lovely there. I always approach them asking to pump my tyres, they never moan, or tell me to pump them by myself — I just come and get a free service. Lovely!
The other services are quite pricy, I’m not entirely sure about the exact prices, but changing tyres there is more expensive than in casual bike shop/​repairs. However, they do advice you on which tyres to get, etc, which makes me feel more confident about their service.
To be fair, I would rather come here, and pay £5 more, but I’ll be sure that my bike is in safe hands (as staff seems to be well trained) also, as I mentioned, staff is so friendly there, that I don’t mind paying them extra few quid.
If you need to repair your bike, or you’ve saved enough money for a brand new racing bike, evans cycles is the right place to get it.
To add: I was looking for particular handlebar tape, buying online was an option with ridiculous € 16 shipping charge; evans cycles saved my life by having one in their store. Check also their webpage, they do deliver stuff to your local store for free.

Just bought my first road bike from here and the guys were super knowledgable and really really helpful in a good way not a pester you to buy the most expensive bike in the shop way!
I spoke to a guy called Ed who was really clued up and found the exact right bike for me. It was really great because it was the exact bike I’d read up on and kind of decided was right for me before I’d even walked in there.
The tyres were not great so I called and said can they have them replaced with tyres of my choice and have it ready for when I’m due to pick it up.
Not only did they put the exact tyres I requested but they also threw in some road pedals as road bikes don’t come with pedals. And the real kicker here is that everything was done free of charge and the new tyres and pedals were also free!!!
Ok granted my bike was £2000 but the point is they did it because they wanted to and because they are a real professional outfit that love cycling and anything to do with it! Top quality service, top quality advice, and top quality bikes!
If your buying a bike in Brighton you have to go here!!!

Bad service Bad communication still got six months warranty on it feel I cannot go back to the shop worst experience I have had with customer service

Great service, went in to get a few problems sorted out on bike and the staff where really helpful, even put the bits on the bike for me! Would recommend

The guys in this particular branch are super helpful and always on hand to lend expert advice. Many the time I’ve threatened to buy a bike and found them re very good at finding the right wheels for me. Kona, Scott, Ridgeback, Canondale, Specialized and their own brand which I can’t remember the name of. Discontinued, last season stock is often sold for a lower price and may not be on display so don’t be afraid to ask. Also remember to ask them to throw in a bike chain and lights if you’re buying something expensive.

When buying my bike, quite a few people suggested I stick with a local shop, which I would have preferred to have done. As it turned out, Evans had the bike that I wanted, and since buying I’ve been really impressed by the service.
After messing up a delivery date, they reduced the cost of the bike and threw in some extras, and in the two months I’ve owned it have dealt with my numerous (no-​doubt elementary) questions and complaints promptly and painlessly.
For extra’s, sites like Wiggle are lots cheaper, but if you’re buying a bike and want the after service, I can’t fault them.

This is the best Cycle store in the city. First of all, the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, so if you don’t know which end of a bike to get on, they’ll get you up to speed in no time. The ranges are extremely comprehensive and best of all, you can order off the even more comprehensive Evans website, get stuff delivered to the store, and they will help you get to grips with it all when you pick it up. A very nice time was always had shopping here.
