Fish + Liquor

I didn’t realize that I was becoming a fish ‘n chips critic, but I think i have some adequate skills now. I tried Fish & Liquor based upon the good Unilocal reviews… and as we all know Unilocal does not lie! I have to say that my fish was among the best I’ve had in England! Chips also were cooked very well… not too crispy and not too soft. The great location & views of the beach, I’m sure, contributed to the experience.

Pretty delicious fish and chips but it took us almost an HOUR to get our food, people that came in after us were served first. The restaurant was empty… no idea why it took so long.
The price is relatively reasonable, if you don’t mind waiting, eat here!

You can get fish and chips here and beer/​cider to help wash it down. I had sausage croquettes served with mustard mash and very nice it was too. Service is first class and portions are very large too.

I knew I wanted to get fresh, yummy fish and chips during my London business trip so I’m glad I checked off that experience in Brighton at Fish & Liquor.
To make sure I was properly hungry, I did the brisk walk here from the Brighton train station. I ordered from the outdoor counter and apparently usually that means you sit at the outside tables. I think the staff took pity on me since the wind gusts were so strong that day with a biting wind chill, plus the restaurant wasn’t busy due to the non-​peak hour, so they let me sit inside. Very appreciative for that!
I like the little touches here, like the seafood-​themed comic strip wallpaper and the immense amount of natural light. I ordered one each of the haddock and cod fish with an order of chips. Way too much food, but so fresh and good! The batter wasn’t too thick, and the generous fish portions weren’t fishy at all. I took my time polishing off as much as I could and no one hurried me along as I watched people walk by outside. There are other seafood options on their menu I would love to try next time.

After wondering around the streets for some authentic fish and chips we came across this amazing place. Traditional yet top quality food, friendly service and some awesome craft beers. Very trendy spot to watch the world go by, especially sitting outside in the sunshine.

Down in Brighton with friends today and looking around for a decent fish and chip shop. Hard to find when your in a seaside town full of eateries.
After a while we stumbled across Fish and Liquor, they were about to close early but welcomed in our party of 5
Well, how lucky were we, great place, great staff and fantastic food.
Well worth a visit
