Krua Anne is a good place to go if you want to have Thai food in the Northern Lane. However, you can eat similar food paying less at London Road in Bangkok Express.

I love it in here! They serve really tasty Thai food at such a reasonable price — with most mains around the £6−7 mark. It’s the sort of place you might walk right past — hidden away in the bustling lanes, it’s very easy to miss — however, once you’ve dropped in for a quick lunch once I have no doubt that you will be back for more. The place itself is small and cute — with fun paintings covering the walls and lovely, helpful staff. You can almost always get a table here too, presumably because, like I said, people might not know about this little gem yet. The menu is fairly standard for a Thai restaurant, with everything you could want available, and the food is truly scrummy! I’ve had the Thai green curry and the mushroom soup before and both were absolutely delicious(though the soon was particularly spicy — be warned!!). The best thing about this place is that the food is cheap and the service is remarkably quick, making it the perfect lunchtime stop-off, if you fancy nice treat away from the office. If you haven’t checked this place out already then go for it! I promise you you won’t regret it any time soon!

Best Thai in Brighton! Undoubtedly the best Thai food I’ve ever had. All their dishes are generously portioned.(They seem relatively small, but believe me, you’ll struggle to finish!) Their Green Curry is an absolute eye opener — creamy, spicy and slightly sweet. Yum! The Pad Thai with rice noodles and chicken is lovely too, served with crunchy peanuts on the side to add some texture. Starters are good, nicely presented and tasty. Last time I tried the fried tofu with peanut sauce and vegetable spring rolls. The tofu in particular was really great. Much better than anticipated, as I’m usually not a big fan of it. But these were large slices that became crispy and porous, which then soaked up the crunchy peanut sauce. Lovely. The place itself is bright and welcoming. The murals on the walls making it up to be a beach scene, as though you were sitting on a white sand tropical beach under blue skies instead of drizzly England. Super-kitsch, yes. But it works. It’s a cheesy, cute gem of a place in amongst the bustle of Kensington Gardens. The theme is continued downstairs to the toilets, as you descend ‘under the sea’, where fish and treasure chests abound on the walls. Lunchtime deals are great — very cheap. You can get a tasty, filling meal for around £6. Get there early — it fills up VERY quickly over the lunchtime period. In the evenings I think the prices average around £7 for a main, £4 for a starter. They have BYOB here, if you fancy wine or a beer, as they don’t have their own alcohol licence. I’m not sure of the corkage fee, but have read elsewhere that it’s £1 per bottle. Other than that they have a good selection of teas and soft drinks. Service is good and quick and friendly. The people that work here obviously care about what they are serving and it comes across. I have always had a relaxed, enjoyable experience in Krua Anne.

It’s good. Duck was very nice and the BYOB is a bonus!

First thai restaurant I went to in Brighton. Interesting Hawaiian theme(?) or something of that sort. It was not very crowded when I went in(2 tables still open), and got seated right away. Took a while to order food because there was only 1 server I believe. Panda and I ended up ordering pad thai and fried rice and halving them. Pad thai was slightly bland compared to restaurants at home, but I can’t really compare… It was pretty good nonetheless. It seems like they don’t use much MSG which I found nice. Fried rice was more flavory than pad thai and seemed like there was more food. Again, doesn’t seem like they use a lot of MSG which is nice. and why on earth would they add broccoli and cauliflower in fried rice… oh lord. anyway, pretty good thai food, just slightly laggish service. Maybe I’ll be back after checking out other thai restaurants in brighton!

One of the best Thai restaurants here in Brighton, the food is great and the service is really fast. I go there once or twice every month, and also, good value of money. I definitely recommend it.

Always a great place to eat! If you eat there during the day it’s never very busy. Ate there last on a Sunday night and it was packed. There’s usually only one lady running the waitressing upstairs and she does a damn quick job for only one person. Everything on the menu is good and worth a try — especially the starters and curries.

A café as opposed to a restaurant, this place serves decent — but not spectacular– Thai food. Special mention must be given to the drinks, er, vessels. They’re shallow & made of metal — I assumed my Diet Coke(bring your own booze, I found out too late…) was being served up in the Holy Grail but on reflection it looked more like a fingerbowl. Perhaps the dishwasher was up the spout?! Also, the décor is, well, unique. Beach scenes with stuck on seagulls, fake palms & spray painted walls abound. Only in Brighton!!! The staff were lovely. Beautiful smiles & good natured too. Worth a visit.

This has to be one of my favourite Thai places around, I say that a lot, but this time I definitely definitely mean it, i promise. I like that Krua Anne is a bit different from the usual Thai place, offering a colourful and sunny décor that makes you feel like you’re on a beach in Hawaii instead of a small restaurant in the North Lanes. The food is of a very good quality, although it is all pretty much the usual fayre like pad thai, green curry and fish cakes. That said, one big plus point has to be the lack of alcohol licence that allows you to ‘bring a bottle’ for a small corking fee.

Krua Anna has to be situated in one of the best café location in the city, in the middle on the narrowest street within Brighton famous Laines. The street is very popular and on summer days it can difficult to get from one end to the other, which is good news for Krua Anna as its always bustling with custom. The café restaurant serves an array of gorgeous ad authentic Thai dishes, at a surprisingly reasonable price considering its central location… about £8/£10 if you have a main and side. A great feature on the venue is the floor to ceiling mural of a Thai beach that covers the entire establishment.

I popped here last night, after meaning to pay a visit for ages, and I can’t wait to got back. My food was simple but delicious, and a welcome variation on the oilier foods served up by many Chinese and Indian restaurants. I had sticky rice and Chicken Pad Ginger(i.e. stir fried chicken and vegetables with fresh ginger), the flavours were really delicate but delicious. My friend had egg fried rice with Esarn Drunken Duck(stir fried duck and vegetables with brandy) which looked a bit greasier but apparently tasted amazing too. The prices are very reasonable although not dirt cheap on a student budget — you’re looking at £8-£10 for food once you’ve added rice. The restaurant is very pleasant to dine in too, with a calm atmosphere and quiet music, cute ornate cutlery and cups, serviettes(poshos!), and a tropical sea scene covering the main wall. Krua Anne has an authentic and unpretentious vibe, with fresh simple food — a definite must visit.

Krua Anne is a a great little Thai restaurant right in the heart of the North Lanes, making it a convenient place to dine before going out for drinks in town. Unlike most Thai restaurants in Brighton, Krua Anne have moved away from traditional Thai décor, and have instead adopted a beach vibe, with aquatic wall murals and beach scenes. My favourite decorative piece is the plastic palm tree in the centre of the restaurant. This fun, contemporary theme gives the restaurant a very laid-back, jovial atmosphere, which is very much in keeping with the spirit of the North Lanes. As with the décor, the food is not strictly conventional, but fuses flavours and dishes form all over Thailand. The fish dishes I’ve tried have been really tasty… especially the crispy fish with garlic, delicious! The Spicy Squid salad(always a fave of mine) is also good. I can imagine this being a great place to have a birthday dinner, as the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is lively and fun.

The Krua Anne this restaurant is situated on Kensington Gardens right in the bustle of North Lanes. Its kind of a café set up as it has small with wooden tables, a great feature is the floor to ceiling pictures of Thai ocean scenery with give the place a really tropical feel. Because of its location the restaurant always busy particularly at weekends so if you see a table grab it! They have milkshake and Eastern teas, they don’t serve alcohol but offer a £1 corkage fee. The menu has an array of gorgeous curries, soups and meat dishes, their masaman curry is to die for.
