Lego Store

Great customer service. The staff seem to love talking about lego and they are really patient with the kids. Ive been in with a piggy bank full of savings and they were polite and kind and even complementary about the vast handfuls of change to be counted. We love the free lego builds! Thanks and keep up the good work!

There aren’t a great many toys still going strong from my childhood, but Lego is definitely one of them. I spent many happy hours building houses, garages (for my brother’s Dinky cars), trains, and my own version of the ‘Thunderbird’ craft, although they didn’t really look anything like the real thing. Not that I cared.
The big thing that has changed, though, is the change from just basic building sets to the huge range of specialised sets, with everything from space-​ships to pirate ships, trains, cars, planes, and themes and franchises such as Indiana Jones, Atlantis, and Toy Story — to name just a few.
I must confess to being old school here, preferring the range of basic brick boxes and buckets to let children’s own imaginations run riot, but I can see the need to compete in today’s market-​place with more commercially inspired sets. The key thing is that you have the choice. Basic brick boxes start from £6.50 (280 pieces) to £12.99 to the 650-​piece Deluxe version, both of which seem pretty good value to me compared with many others toys these days.
The store is not that big, but there is more than enough choice, and the staff are knowledgeable and child-​friendly. As the other reviewers imply, it pays to have a plan before you go in, lest you get tempted (or pestered!) to spend/​buy rather more than you planned.
It’s worth noting that there’s a good website if you want to look in the store and then buy on-​line later.

I really like this store. Obviously this is quite a ridiculous statement for a grown man to make but hey, where else can you buy a rose made of lego? I suppose it has started collecting dust on the mantelpiece and my lego watch has stopped ticking and I can’t be bothered to replace the battery I will have to find other uses for this store. Oh yeah. Kids love lego and here you can pretty much build a small village complete with surveillance systems and discarded shopping trolleys. The possibilities of such a simple product are obvious if you have ever seen how long a kid can amuse itself with a cardboard box, so imagine what this many colours and shapes and options can do for a kids imagination. Less of the pre-​moulded ships and things though yeah guys, stick to the little bricks and let the little ones get constructive!

I was amazed when I found out that something such as the Lego Store exists. Growing up in a small town, the only toy store we had was called «Toys N’ Wheels». For the «Toys» part of the name, they sold a few small boxes of Lego. The «Wheels» part was lost on me, as they sold nothing that had wheels on them. But Lego was such a significant part of my youth, and it’s great to see that it’s thriving enough that Lego specific stores are opening up. This is a fantastic place, and I still think that Lego is one of the best gifts you can give a child (or adult for that matter). Lego allows you to jump into a fantasy world. Walking into the Lego Store, I was immediately taken back to my youth, when I was slaying dragons with a miniature Lego guy with a big smile and a mustache.

Excellent store! Built models down the centre tempt you to spend big bucks, whilst the shelves are stacked with all the lego favorites.
Some really nice touches too like the monthly (or was it weekly/daily…i forget) …mini build by kids the best of which was up for display.
Great too is the opportunity to buy ‘by the brick’ at the rear of the store.
I’ll disagree with the review by Tess in that there are sets there for all ages and abilities, however be in a ‘window shopping’ mood or make sure you’ve saved, because you won’t want a horse and man, you’ll want a goodie and a baddie castle, 2 armies and ship with port…
We have bricks that have been passed down generations now, so look after them and the cost isn’t so bad (think of how much people spend on one console game these days).
Well worth a visit

Hunting for Christmas presents for my best friend’s little one, we excitedly ventured into the Lego store to find a cool present he would enjoy playing with for more than five minutes.
We thought we could just buy a simple Lego pack, something any five year old could throw together and have fun messing around with.
Having never really been a fan of Lego as a child, I felt slightly disturbed at discovering the complex engineering involved in building some of the toys.
If you’ve got patience, and a spare 100 odd quid (you’ll need it for the extra kits to go with the set), you can build anything from a Star Wars Starfighter and a Ben 10 Spidermonkey to a complete model remake of Indiana Jones’ Temple of Doom.
Slightly embarrassed at our lack of funds, knowledge and Lego expertise, we skulked out of the shop and hurried quickly to the Disney Store.

I loved Lego when I was younger, even going to the Lego themepark in Denmark for one of my birthdays. Today, although my lust for lego has slightly diminished, heading in here stills fills me with a sense of nostalgia, and a strange urge to build a ginormous brick-​pirate ship. This is a great store full of fantastic lego items, that I hope children today still enjoy just as much as I did when I was younger.

If you’ve visited the mammoth Toys R Us in Times Square, you’ll have seen amazing sculptures of King Kong and Times Square made out of Lego.
There’s nothing quite as impressive in Lego’s Brighton store but there are glass cabinets dotted around the store with much smaller and detailed sculptures of classic hotels, fairgrounds and landmark buildings. Parents that haven’t got the time or inspiration to help their offspring build something jaw-​dropping can buy these ready made for around £100-£250. Otherwise, you can buy buckets of individual bricks in different colours and kits to build everything from animals and Lego families to jungles, buildings and scenes.
Imaginative and exciting stuff for nippers. And parents that are still young at heart!

Ah Lego. I had a rabbit called Lego; it died of a heart attack an experience that offered me my first insight into mortality.
Unlike my rabbit, the Lego brand still lives on and boy have they come along since the days of unknown worlds being created on living room carpets.
The store is a pretty spacious cylindrical unit off Churchill Square. It is clean, modern, and to my surprise, the staff aren’t children. Not only are they not children, but they’re also not those creepy Peter Pan types you often get in stores aimed at kids. They were friendly and efficient chaps and chapesses [sic].
I went in with a friend who was buying a gift for a young boy and when she asked what I thought the youngster would like, I was transported back to my childhood and found myself using the word «cool» a little too much! It’s a great place though and not as twee as Disney stores.
It did re-​awaken the sadness and mourning for my dead rabbit though! Sob, sob!

The service I had from them was somewhat different.
We had seen a product online that my son wanted to buy but none of the stores stocked it. It could be ordered online but with a shipping cost and as it was coming from his pocket money I thought i’d ask in the Brighton store.
They were happy to order it for us from europe at no extra postage and we were kept up to date with tracking emails throughout the process.
Although this service is not down to the member of staff it is a great service.

Lego is definitely in the realm of adult toys these days if this store is anything to judge by. Sure, they offer just about every lego set ever made, and they have a nifty system for choosing your own pieces, but the prices are astronomical! expect to spend at least 100 quid to match the fun you had as a kid for under a tenner.

I love the product and there is so much to chose from in this store from small little key-​rings to pens up to massive kits that will take you a while to build i have spent allot of money in there because if you are really unsure of what to buy someone everyone loves Lego, big negative is the customer service i have never been spoken to even once whilst in the shop not even a hi or thank you at the till, and i found it pointless to ask questions, Good product Bad Services
