After passing by this branch of Pretty Eccentric countless times on my way to work in the North Laines, I finally had a good reason to go in and check out their gorgeous clothes. I needed a dress to wear to a wedding, and though the prices aren’t exactly bargain basement, the quality of the fabrics, designs and detailing on the clothes make them worth it. There’s definitely an overarching vintage feel to the stock, with dresses by the Pretty Eccentric label taking inspiration from the 1920s through the 60s. Many of the dresses are made of silk, including several beauties on the sale rack, where some great deals could be had. There are some lovely beaded deco dresses, 40s and 50s style frocks with nipped in waists and smart tailoring and cute patterns, and some sleek sheath dresses. They also have shoes, perfumes and trinkets, wraps and some awesome silk kimono jackets, as well as clothes by other designers such as Blank London and Stop Staring, from LA. I wound up buying two dresses because I’m indecisive and the helpful and attentive sales assistant was just a little *too* good at her job. I wasn’t complaining though! I would definitely come back to this little jewel box of a shop next time I’m in the market for a sophisticated and unique dress.
