I share a similar grip that another Unilocal user has. I just spend far too much of my money here!
They have a really great selection of 35 mm film. Especially the film stocks that I use, like Portra, Ektar and stocks for Polaroid cameras too!
They have a load of other cool stuff, like some Holga and Diana cameras. There’s one guy that works there [maybe the owner], that really knows his stuff and was really helpful to me a while back when I didn’t really know much about analog photography and is also, clearly passionate about what he does.

I hate this shop as I cannot leave it without having purchased something. This gallery shop is Brighton’s Lomography superstore and the staff being Lomographers themselves can offer advice and encouragement.
The images of Brighton are terrific and make great souvenirs of a visit to the town and the quirky fisheye stye pics of goats and sheep make great kid’s room decorations.
Visit this gem of a shop and go green with envy that you don’t live in Brighton. If you live in Brighton already get in and have a look at this gem of a shop.
Long Live Lomo!

This is a great shop if you’re into disposable fish eye lense cameras, triptych canvases and a great range of photo-​illustrated books. There’s also quirky cards and fridge magnets if you fall in love with the aesthetics of this modern boutique but only have a fiver on you. The owner I think, is French and quite particular about photography. His images of Brighton are a cut above the norm.

The next time I go back home, I know I have to bring some souvenirs or pictures of Brighton. The last time I took a trip (to Berlin), I only came back with a DVD about the history of Berlin, which I got from working at a Berlin tourist shop, and everyone back home was disappointed. I told them: «Watch the DVD, it’s educational.» They laughed at me.
Zoing Image has lovely square pieces of images of Brighton. You can even purchase a Tryptich, where three square pieces can be put together to form one image. They also sell fridge magnets and clocks. So when I come back home, I can bring back something unique, rather than just a map of the city, and some tourist guides.

If you ever need to be reminded of exactly why you love Brighton, then one visit to this little gallery-​style photo shop should do the trick. Owner Serge Rolland’s images just resonate with the Brighton spirit particularly the little triptychs of rows of brightly-​coloured beach huts, deck chairs on the beach, the Palace and West piers and Brighton’s iconic merry-​go-​round.
I’m not a professional photographer. I’m not even an amateur photographer, but it’s easy to see that these prints really are something special. And if you aren’t content with just mounting your favourite image on your wall, you can get it in the form of a wall clock, a perspex box or even printed on a set of coasters.
The prints aren’t too pricey either a 50 mm x 50 mm canvas will set you back £4 and a 100 mm x 100 mm is £8. The gorgeous wall clocks (which are probably my favourite things in the shop) are a bargain at £21.50 each.

When people visit another city, they often want to find a piece of memorabilia to take home with them, but get stuck into buying tacky/​cheesy replicas of landmarks, cliché postcards… keychains…etc. The usual gift/​tourist shop stock.
Zoing Image is an ingenious alternative, offering unique pieces of Brighton to take away and remember. Square pieces. Several interesting and real images of the city are used to create square pieces of artwork — some small and individual, others a series of pieces that can be hung together to create a full image.
The images are also on clocks, magnets, postcards, coasters and other familiar genres, but with this twist of originality.
Photography equipment is also on sale, ranging from film and adhesive to books on making your own plastic camera (whatever that is.) I recommend checking out Zoing Image with visitors or just to celebrate the fabulousness of Brighton.

I really like the photos printed on canvas they sell here– usually small canvases which only cost five to ten pounds. As Sarah-​Jane says they make a good souvenir or as a way to bring a little bit of Brighton into you apartment. I like the way they look in the shop but I suspect that to make them look as cool at home you would need several– just one would look a bit sad. What I would really like would be to bring in some of my favorite pictures and have them printed onto larger canvases, a great way to turn photos of my boyfriend’s nephew in a chipmunk outfit into art! I also like to go in to drool over the Holga cameras– at £60 they are not actually that expensive and they take great slightly blurred pictures that look so atmospheric and lovely. I need to save up a little longer and I’ll be in there buying one to take some photos to blow up onto canvases. It’ s a neat little circle.

If you’re visiting Brighton for a few days and want to take a bit of the seaside away with you, forget filling your pockets with stones from the beach. They’re too heavy and they’ll make your suitcase smell really salty.
Instead, go to Zoing Images and treat yourself to a photo printed onto canvas. They have cool images of the pier, the amusement arcade, the the seagulls, the West Pier and lots more. All the images are available as mini canvases or triptychs and they also offer a service where you can get your own photo blown up as art. If you don’t fancy a print, they also stock wall and desk clocks, perspex blocks, photo books and an impressive range of Polaroid and Lomo cameras.
Personally, I’m after the limited edition, Jack White Lomo. Anyone got a spare few hundred dollars?

Why doesn’t London have anything like this? Just spending ten minutes in this small, friendly shop last week browsing through the piles of arty photo books, impressive range of Lomography cameras and accessories and mini canvases for printing inspired me so much I dusted off my Holga as soon as I got home and have been snapping away with renewed vigour ever since. Imagine if it was my local camera shop! Oh, the money I’d spend…
On my way out I congratulated Serge, the owner of the shop, on his choice of stock and particularly the use of mini canvases for customised printing. Instead of paying £50+ to get one image put on a medium canvas, get a series of three on smaller canvases for less than £20. Since finding Serge on Flickr (
) I’ve discovered that the shop was primarily opened as a way for him to sell his own images, but allowing people to get involved with their own photos is a great idea.
I foolishly didn’t think to ask if they do regular printing in the shop and the website is currently under construction, but next time I’m in Brighton I’ll take along a few medium format films and see what Zoing can do for me. A shop like this is yet another great reason to spend time at the seaside, hurrah!
