This pub is a real gem; local but friendly, The Avon Packet has a traditional quality to it. On my first visit here, I felt as though I’d entered a time warp and was existing in a bygone time, when pubs were community spirited and characterful. Granted, you’ll receive the obligatory curious looks as you enter, but these will invariably be followed by a smile and a greeting of some sort. True to its traditional standing, the pub sells a selection of ales and bitters, in addition to Taunton ciders. Drinks are reasonably priced, and you can purchase a pint of ale at a modest cost of £1.90. Food is also served all day, and the pub boasts a well sized beer garden, equipped with a duck pond, ideal for sunshiny summer days.

Évaluation du lieu : 2 Bristol, United Kingdom
A local pub for local people(as The League of Gentlemen might say), but not unwelcoming if you like bawdy jokes, pet dogs and great local cider. I entered the bar with trepidation, expecting the smoking ban not to be in force(of course it was, it’s just the place seems twenty years out of date in terms of decoration). You’ll get change from a fiver for 2 drinks, and the cider is cloudy and there are bar games a plenty. But don’t expect that friendly West Country welcome when the Premiership football’s on the telly — you’ll barely get a grunt hello!
