I originally moved to this part of Bristol in 2004 and Bhujon quickly became a regular haunt thanks to the great food and excellent, friendly service. In 2006 my wife and I moved away from Bristol and travelled around a bit, spending some time in London and York before coming back to our old house earlier this year. It wasn’t long before I was back in Bhujon to collect a takeaway and, much to my surprise, the owner still recognised me and remembered my name after over 4 years! I’m pleased to report that the food is still delicious and, judging by my experience, the service in this family run restaurant is still first class. I’ve probably eaten more than my fair share of curries over the years and Bhujon is my joint favourite Indian restaurant along with York Spice in York. Their chicken chat is the best I’ve ever tasted and they’re always looking for ways to improve the place; the most recent being a BYO policy with no corkage charge.

I have been eating at the bhujon for years now and is always consistent excellent food. The waiters are friendly always there to help. Even tho it is a small restaurant the food is the best I have ever tasted in a curry house. Every sunday and tuesday its £6.50 for a starter main course and a nan or rice, how ood is that. Also recently they have a solo singer the first thursday of every month, I went last time and she was excellent, so they are defenitely improving all the time. Best in Bristol I would say and all my family and friends agree when I take them there.

Bhujon is one of those places that seems to be trying so hard to make their business work, just maybe not in the right places. Having been through a few refurbs of late they’re back with a new style but from what I hear, the food hasn’t changed a lot since I was last there. It’s leagues better than a lot of high street shops to be fair and it’s clear from the spice that the chefs are Asian themselves. The takeaway service is and has always been pretty punctual and good value for money, although you do need to spend a tenner for delivery. When it comes to the food it could be a touch ‘fuller’ if you know what I mean — but it is still very tasty. They have some pretty cool offers and discounts from time to time so it really is worth checking it out yourself.

This indian takeaway and restaurant used to be consistently great but is now hit and miss. The restaurant is always empty so no need to book. The takeaway is a good service — you have to order over about a tenner to get it home delivered and they are often short-staffed so appreciate you picking it up more(I have been given a free drink for doing so). You get a 10% discount as well, although judging by the state of the restaurant maybe they should give a discount for people eating in! The food, yes the important bit, when it is good it is nice and spicy with great flavour. They have a nice selection of dishes with Tandoori and Balti a good staple and specialities being Handi and Mossala. However a little while ago just after we moved away from this part of town the standards slipped from being fantastic to just OK. We have since shifted our loyalties to more local curry houses, but do occasionally go back here where it seems to have improved to good again, but not the best in town. Dishes are between £5 to £10. They are a lovely family business so I hope it is getting better again and that you give it a fair try!
