Blunts is a tricky one — yes, 90% of the stuff in there is rubbish but on the other hand 10% is out of this world amazing. Also they have a history going back 150 years — that deserves some serious respect. Honestly, I walked by for five years before venturing in, upon which I found a great selection of Loake and Grenson, all super cheap(£45 for Loake loafers?! That’s crazy amazing). It’s an easy shop to bash but if you know your shoes you can find THEBEST quality stuff in here for great prices.

I stumbled upon Blunts shoes when I was doing some ASDA shopping in Bedminster and I don’t think I’ll be going back in any hurry. The smell that greets you when you go in is quite horrific, really plasticy. The Men’s section is raised to the right, and they didn’t have much on offer that I was interested in. The shop is really big though on the whole. I think Blunts is more suitable for clubbing girls and old men than guys like me. I did however, manage to find a decent pair of festival wellies here for quite cheap, and they’ve lasted me a couple of muddy summers, so I can’t complain too much. I’d sooner shop at George @ ASDA for other cheap shoes though.

The garish front of this shop, claiming they stocked«Spot-on fashion footwear», was enough to persuade me to go inside. The shop is really very big, with rows and rows of fashionable looking shoes, a mens department, and what looks like an old ladies aisle. The smell that greets you when you go inside is very plasticy and the think carpet and lack of incidental shopping music make the acoustics and general atmosphere really really quiet. They had a small sale section, with flourescent orange court shoes for £9.99. I’d say they were quite on trend with shoes in here, but they aren;t necessarily the best quality. You might be able to find something though, as they have a massive collection.
