Cedars Express

Yummy and affordable! The chicken shawarma is seasoned nicely and sandwiched between pickled peppers, lettuce, tomato, and garlic dressing. I also tried a bit of Cedar’s tabbouleh (roasted eggplant), which tasted like hummus with a very strong coffee aftertaste… a bit off-​putting but not bad.

It’s a heaven of taste. And yes, it’s value for money! It’s one of the best Lebanese kebab places, in my personal opinion, in the entire UK. They make authentic Lebanese food at their premises and you pay a fraction of what you might end up paying in a sit in Lebanese one. Don’t go by it’s décor, remember, all that shines is not gold!
You will fail to find a hint of grease in the meat and it’s absolute tender. It has a little outdoor seating with tables each provided with two chairs. But, it’s a takeaway joint, so, I never mind. They do sheesha as well. And, the price is the cheapest in the entire Bristol! The wraps are stupendous and so is the Pizza. The lamb chawarma, chicken seesh linger in my mouth for days even, after I have feasted on them! You can eat here with friends, family or just, on your own as you turn the pages of What’s happening in Bristol in the magazines provided on the racks inside. The vegan options are also pretty elaborate.
This place has earned a legend status with the staff saying you ‚“Enjoy!” As they hand you over the food.
Definitely recommended.

I regularly grab a baguette from here during my lunch hourService is a bit rushed on times but it’s only £2 for a baguette and a drink of your choice so can’t grumble too much.

This is my favourite place in the city centre — unpretentious, reasonably priced, the ppl are okay, good food. They let me put my bike inside the door and pay after I’ve eaten.

A late-​night takeaway good enough to eat at lunchtime, Cedars serves up simple yet delicious Lebanese wraps at all hours. Similar to the neighbouring Magic Roll (although far more authentic, this place is run by Lebanese), both hungry drunkards and lunchtime officeworkers are proud to call this place their culinary home.
The prices are extremely good value for money with most of the sandwiches cheaper than the usual insubstantial fare to be picked up in other cafes. The ingredients are fresh, flavoursome and everything is prepared before your eyes.
There’s also a range of good value takeaway pizzas with a variety of toppings. Other lebanese goods are available to pick up such as baklava and a range of dips.

Cedar’s is a very popular little Lebanese restaurant located along Park Row right near the bustling Park Street of Bristol. It’s in a brilliant location for a buzzing evening’s atmosphere, and this restaurant is absolutely brilliant and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Lebanese food wanting somewhere new to eat.
They offer both an eat in and a takeaway service, I have tried both and the food is always fantastic and you get a really good amount for your money too. If you have the time though I would recommend eating in — it does tend to be more pricy because you end up paying for drinks as well, but you won’t be disappointed and I’ve had a few very enjoyable evenings out here.
This place is in a completely different league to the greasy kebab shops you can find nearby, and their kebabs are fresh, meaty and very tasty — they also do a range of really great pizzas if this is more your thing. I can’t say enough good stuff about this place, you should check it out for yourself!

Cedar Express is a funny little kebab place opposite the White Harte. The guys in there are quite strange — I remember when I was here, one of them stared directly at the bunch of us and didn’t say a word for absolutely ages and I think he was holding the meat kebab knife too which after five minutes of awkward silence, we all burst out into laughter and proceeded to order with the other guy instead.
Don’t let that put you off though, the food here is what you’d need (if you’re the type to fancy a kebab after a night’s alcohol consumption). Definitely give it a go if you’re out and about around this area, maybe you won’t catch that same guy in his funny mood. It wasn’t scary by the way, it simply added some fun to the night and maybe that’s what he does to let the tipsy people of Bristol have a story to tell.

This is far and away my favourite takeaway in Bristol (apart from maybe the Grecian Kebab House on Gloucester Road).
It manages to have something for more discerning diners as well as those with a total beer-​munch on. So you can get burgers, cheesey chips and doner kebabs at great prices if you so desire. However, if your palate is a little more choosey then Cedars does fantastic shawarma, falafel and even the little Lebanese pastry sweets Baklava. And they do haloumi cheese and incredible spicy sausages. You can arrange the fillings as you please and there’s also little samosas to tempt you. Try the seasoned bread, the home-​made houmous and baba ghanoush too. In fact try everything and if you can’t do it one sitting go back day after day unti you are sated!

You really are spoilt for choice when it comes to fast food in the Park Street/​Triangle area and I have to say, it took me ruddy ages to try out this place. When Magic Roll is just a couple of minutes away, it’s a wonder anyone else does any business at all. In fact, this place is brilliant. I would even go as far to say it could rival Magic Roll for the top spot of vaguely healthy late night take aways. Being a vegetarian who eats fish (well, pescatarian to be precise but no-​one really knows what that means), I opted for the sesame seed and thyme bread with salad. It was lush and filling. My much more traditional fella went for good olé cheesy chips. They were possibly the most substantial, least greasy and anaemic chips he’s ever had in Bristol so there’s a result. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful even as it approached midnight and the clientele started to get a bit more inebriated. I will most certainly be going back.

I love Middle Eastern food, and this tiny takeaway on Park Row serves up the best Lebanese in Bristol.
Lebanese owner Wissam is genuinely passionate about his food, and nearly everything is freshly made on site by him or his staff.
Try baba ghanoush, a smoky aubergine dip (my ultimate favourite, eaten with flat bread); feta cheese samosas, which are deliciously minty; generous veggie falafels or kibbe filled with spiced minced lamb; manqoushe, a round bread seasoned with thyme that’s a popular breakfast food in Lebanon; or succulent shawarma chicken, which is a popular street food in Lebanon.
You can also pick up sweet, honey-​soaked baklava pastries for dessert, and for those who enjoy a smoke, Cedars have sheesha pipes and tobacco for hire, with rickety seats to sit on outside under a small heat lamp.
They sell pizzas and sandwiches, too, but it would be a shame to visit Cedars without trying the Lebanese food it’s best known for. My only criticism (and it’s a small one — not even enough to justify losing a star) is that if you buy separate portions of several dishes, so that you can have a good variety, it can work out quite expensive.

I’ve been here twice and been disappointed each time.
However, small disclaimer, I have never tried the kebabs or the falafel.
The first time I stopped in for a tabouleh salad and was charged something around 4pound for a super tiny tray of the stuff. The second time I stopped by, I picked up some baba ganoush for a party and was charged a similar price for even less actual food. The taste was fine in both cases however the value was just not there.
In summary, it seems like this joint is designed to provide a nice nighttime falafel but the side dishes come up short in terms of value on their own. Take my advice and come here loaded at 2am, make some tabbouleh at home on your own time.

Definitely one of the best fast food places I have ever been to.
High quality meat, good prices, great tasting — A*!!

This is one of those kebab places that holds up even under the harsh scrutiny of the daylight hours. The food here is Lebanese and quite simply delicious.
The place is tiny and I’m not doing it a disservice by saying that it’s really just a fast food joint. There are a few tables in side but it’s very crammed and if you are sitting down you kinda feel like you’re getting in the way of people in the queue.
They mostly offer kebabs of the wrap variety with some sort of meal filling, but don’t be put of if you’re a veggie as they’re haloumi kebab’s are pretty awesome. If you’re in or around Park Street during the lunch hour this place is definitely worth a shout.

Tucked away behind busy Park Street this Lebanese take out joint is a hidden gem. It may not look like much from the outside, but don’t let that put you off. As soon as you get close enough to smell Cedars Express’ scrumptious delights you’ll be hooked. It’s the perfect place for daytime or evening, meat eaters or vegetarians alike!
As a die-​hard veggie, it was an absolute joy when I first discovered Cedars Express after a walk around Banksy’s exhibition at Bristol City Museum. There’s nothing more frustrating after a night of drinking and dancing to watch your friends tuck into a sumptuous kebab and be left eating their lettuce and pita. Cedars’ has a great range of veggie food-​stuffs: my favourite being their falafel. But my favourite thing of all would definitely be the baklava. Starting at just £2.50 per tray of these sweet treats, it’s value for money and absolutely delicious.
It may seem a trek away from the hustle and bustle of the city but it’s completely worth it — just writing about it is making me long for one of their wraps. So get a move on — I’ll see you there!

Finally, a kebab done well. The cedars express is my favourite takeaway in the city; a wide choice of Lebanese meats in a sandwich (wrap) and also tasty samosas and baklava (sweet items). The prices are pretty reasonable, the coffee tasty and there is a bar style table inside and a few little tables outside if you want to sit down to eat. My favourite is the Sojo (spicy sausages) and halloumi (fried salty cheese). Veggies should try the felafels and hummus. mmmmmm.
Come in the day for a spot of Park Street Lunching or post-​pub munching, food from Cedar’s Express is delicious any day.

Many a time has the aroma of cooking meat drawn me to this corner restaurant. This is genuine middle eastern (Lebanese, to be precise) fare, but done at take-​away prices. If you’re trying to find the place look out for the guys smoking hookers and drinking Turkish coffee (which I highly recommend.)
The food is just wonderful. This is a kebab shop, but about as far away as the row of greasy kebab selling places at the bottom of Park Street (Bristol’s number one location for a fight on a Saturday night, incidentaly). Good quality meat, not horribly greasy, and excellently seasoned. This is somewhere to go for a meal, not just for a end of the night. Although, whilst the food’s restaurant quality, there isn’t really anywhere to sit, so it’s probably best to order out. Go to the Cedar Express to get a proper kebab rather than something that’ll clog your arteries.

Now there’s times when you can feel really bad the morning after you’ve had a dirty kebab the night before, but if you come here, you’ll be sure not to. This is a kebab place with such a dolop of class I’m surprised to find it in Bristol at all. I’m such a fan of this place I’ve come here entirely sober on a number of times to take care of an evening meal, which happens very rarely with kebab shops.
It’s Lebanese cuisine, which offers up a variety of meats and kebabs (as in the proper, on the stick type) served in either pitta or a wrap. The latter totally sells it to me — it’s all about kebab in a wrap, which seems elusively difficult to find in England. You can also get some really nice falafel based alternatives, which fill a spot in a less greasy way, as well as Pizzas, a sandwhich range and some individual Lebanese delicacies. So if you’re ever to find yourself in the slightly common Bristol situation of walking around the hellish takeaway joints at the bottom of park street after a night out, you’d be extremely wise to walk up the hill and sample some of Cedar’s delights — it’s totally worth the trek up Park Street.

Wow — this is one of my favorite food places in the South West! It’s tiny, although there are a few seats in there, but the takeaway Lebanese is fantastic.
I dont know of any proper Lebanese places around, so having eaten plenty when in Amsterdam and La Paz, it was great to stumble upon this place!
