Next in line along Wellington Hill is this fine establishment, Ciao. Not to be confused with a burger joint on Glozzy Road of the same name this is a slightly more up market affair, but no less delicious. A family run place the emphasis here is on keeping it Italian. The menu is half and half English and Italian, the waiters speak it and they even offer Italian lessons! The flavour isn’t just in the speaking either, it’s in the food too! With hundreds of variations on the Spag Bol, Italian meats and beers — this is one eating experience not to be missed!

Formally ‘LA House Clearance’ Number 203 on Wellington Hill West is now Ciao — an Italian café /restaurant. Recently taken over and completely refurbished it is worth a try. With Pizzas from as little as £6.20 and pasta dishes from £5.95 as well as a nice selection of affordable starters perhaps Ciao are trying to tempt us in to try their food and great value. They managed to lure me in and I was pleasantly surprised by their Mozzarella Milanese(in breadcrumbs) and Lasagne. They offer the option of having any pasta as a starter for £4.00 which is great if you have a smaller appetite or fancy trying two pasta dishes! If you can get there before 3pm you can get any pizza or pasta for just shy of a lady guidiver and of an evening you can choose two courses for a tenner or three for £12.00. Ciao doesn’t yet quite qualify for Bristol’s Best Italian Award but it is great value and not to be dismissed as a worthwhile option.
