Les Fleurs

The pretty purple façade is one of the cuter additions to Colston Steps. Although it’s not been around for long, Les Fleurs has slotted neatly into the area’s arty-​quirky-​bohemian-​cute vibe.
Enticingly laid out, Les Fleurs features a variety of unusual flowers and plantlife. There’s a pleasing independent store vibe to Les Fleurs, with staff more than happy to point you in the direction of the bouquet of your dreams.
Like most flowershops, you can also arrange to have bouquets made for special occasions.

I walked into Les Fleurs because the flowery fan-​like cacti sitting outside their door looked just amazing. I’m certain I’ve never seen cacti like that before. When I walked in, I realised I recognised the lady who runs this wonderful shop — she came in often to a café I used to work at further down the road. So that was a nice little reunion!
Her shop, like her, is beautiful and charming. She sources locally where she can, wanting to focus more on fairtrade flowers, and my oh my, are the flowers that she gets in stunning, or stunning. The selection here is one that I have never seen at another florists before.
They specialise in weddings, but for any other reason that you might want flowers, I highly recommend coming here, where you are guaranteed a pick of the right bouquet. Simply beautiful.

Gorgeous location and beautiful arrangements to match. I imagine that its location just down from the BRI could make it a popular spot for people looking for something a bit more special than some limp chrysanthemums. The flowers here are beautiful quality sold from a boutique like store. Its not just the name that is French, Les Fleurs exudes French chic.
If you gulp a bit at the thoughts of spending lots of money on one of the floral arrangements they have a range of good value cacti. I’m not normally a fan of the cactus but the ones on display here are really beautiful.

This delightfully flirty, girly flower shop just along from the Christmas Steps is the sort of shop that would be at home on a French postcard. The shop front is pretty and purple, with lovely displays that draw you inside. It was a cold morning when I visited this shop and the door was closed but with a small, endearing sign saying «Please come in; we’re open but it’s too cold to have the door open». It’s that sort of touch that gives a shop a character that you remember long after your visit.
It knows what it’s doing, this flower shop, and it makes it look easy. It is the perfect place to come just for some household flowers, or for birthday bouquets, or for larger occasions such as weddings, parties or funerals. This is «floral design», not your average corner flower shop, so come here if you’re after something put together intelligently and with passion.

This is a florist unlike any other I have been in before.
Perhaps it is because it is more like a shop in the conventional sense; insulated and warm as opposed to the sort of garden centre feel a lot of other florists have. Perhaps it is the homely and welcoming interior, with its framed photographs or antique chairs.
I assume it is a combination of all these points and the ensuing and absolutely incredible scent from the flowers, unable to circulate but instead sitting like some beautifully soft quilt.
Bunches of missed anniversaries and apologies sit outside in colourful metal bins alongside larger bouquets of a graduation or christening.

It is the floral organising of big occasions such as weddings and funerals however, that really set Les Fleurs apart from the rest. If someone has their own garden, for instance, Les Fleurs can arrange to pick and prepare on site.
It’s a very professional but personal service where I really get the feel they’re in control of things. For any query you have I suggest you give them a ring or, if possible, pop in — if only for the aforementioned quilt-​like experience.

Les Fleurs is located very close to the Christmas Steps in a lovely area on Colston Street. I visited leading up to Christmas and there was a good selection of small Christmas Trees on offer, however I can only assume that these aren’t for sale any other times of the year.
The designs in store are really lovely and would be perfect for weddings and other celebrations. They source their flowers locally, and aim to provide ‘modern, innovative’ designs. Additonally they can tailor to individual requirements.

Very interesting florist perfectly positioned amongst the trendy artisan shops around the Christmas Steps area. Bouquets are made fresh and are joyfully exuberant in style and shape but wrapped in dark tissues give them a chic edge.
