Nice location although maybe not great for children(close to water), average food and service, generally ok.

The Lock Keeper sits in a gorgeous riverside spot with a massive beer garden taking full advantage of the location. Serving lunch and dinners, it’s a great place for pub grub in a semi-rural location that feels far removed from busy Bristol. You can enjoy afternoon tea or coffee by the river Avon, while in the evening the menu features pub classics such as steak and ale pie, chilli, and Ploughman’s Lunch — and all their fish dishes use fresh rather than frozen fish. Originally called the White Hart, this place started out as a residential house whose occupier started brewing beer using water from the river and a nearby well. Later, he opened up his kitchen to drinkers and it became an alehouse! Today this is a popular pub with live music nights, regular summer barbecues in the beer garden, and a Petanque pitch that you can hire for free, and which hosts the Brunel League. It’s a place to spend a lazy summer afternoon with a cold beer out in the beer garden, listening to the river below.

A lovely country style pub which is only 10 minutes or so drive down the Bath Road. Sat on the bank of a the Avon(which unfortunately means it’s very susceptible to flooding), the Lock Keeper is probably the only good reason I can think of for going to Keynsham(apart from the pub next door, the name of which escapes me). It’s a Young’s pub which specialises in ales and excellent food, mainly of the ‘with mash and gravy’ variety. There’s a great garden overlooking the river, though if it’s a bit nippy or smelly(an unfortunate side effect of the flooding) out there, the spacious conservatory provides a pleasant alternative. A perfect Sunday afternoon choice if you fancy spoiling yourself.

nice pub, modern feel, it is expensive but generally that means paying twenty pence over for drinks than what most pubs charge which isnt a problem, it has a good atmosphere and large garden area, downside can get the occasional whiff of sewage from the local plant when sat out in the lower garden
