For a while, Magic Roll seemed a bit of a mystery to me, people kept talking about it, recounting their late night experiences, I even saw a few make-shift signs, but it was a few months before I had my first Magic Roll experience, and it was at this store, just off Fishponds Road. It’s fast food but good, simple, food that is served fast rather than the grease and fatty meat that may be associated with other fast food joints, things like huge lamb rolls with choices of relish are really quite tempting here. They try and give off a local based vibe, sourcing a lot of the meat close by. I visited this branch one lunch time, but they also open quite late and offer an after-pub alternative to kebab shops, they often have queue’s of people all the way out the door. As already mention by others, it’s not cheap here, but I don’t think it’s really expensive either, my motto is, would you rather pay a little less for something rubbish that you’ll almost instantly regret, or a little more for something quite tasty!

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Bristol, United Kingdom
Since starting off in Bristol a few years back Magic Roll have come on in leaps and bounds securing more sites across this fine city. This latest addition to Fishponds, just off the main road, can’t have been here too long and is already gaining popularity. I like the originality of the place and the wide variety. This has to be the biggest pull for customers; being given a huge choice of breads and fillings. It’s clearly fresher and feels a lot healthier. My only gripe has to be the expense. It’s something like £4 for a magic roll which is pretty steep, especially for this part of town! An elusive ‘Wizard’s Sleeve’ is £3 but frankly I don’t know what that is. It’s an original and cool sandwich shop and if only to find out about the sleeve, worth a visit.
